Abandoned Garden by Michael Franks

Calm and Peaceful
Just what I would expect from Michael Franks. This is a wonderful tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim. Calm, peaceful, and heartfelt is how I would describe this CD. All the songs have that lazy, rainy day momentum. Great music to listen to. I just bought this CD in June 2011, however, it was released in 1995. It's timeless. It never gets old. This CD has gotten me through many days at work. My favorites are "Hourglass", "Eighteen Aprils", "In the Yellow House", and "Abandoned Garden". I like Djavan's version of "Bird of Paradise" better. If you like Michael Franks, you'll love this CD.

Abandoned Garden...
Michael Franks does it yet again with "Abandoned Garden". I can't add anything more positive than what other reviewers have already provided, except to say this a "first rate" effort!Five stars for "Abandoned Garden"...

Love his earlier stuff...would advise folks to get A Backward Glance or later “Best of...”
Expected more from Mr. Franks, musically. Not nearly up to par with earlier work.
