Fantastic, thin flour and corn tortillas
This is a fantastic tortilla press for both corn and flour tortillas! For those saying that it does not press their flour tortillas thin enough, you have missed such a simple reason (don't feel badly, I missed it too until a kind baker pointed it out to me in a social media post). The secret? For flour tortillas, you have to use the press while it is hot! This is why the thing is cast iron. Put it on your stove burner and turn it on medium high heat. Do not use the wax paper rounds. Just lightly brush oil on the top and bottom plates and close it. Once hot, Use an oven mitt to open it, put your dough ball in the center, and press for no more than 3 seconds (it comes out too thin - we are talking tissue paper thin - if you press any longer!).For optimal speed, transfer to a separate pan to finish cooking, but know that it cooks fast - 20 seconds per side.I can make 24 flour tortillas in under 20 minutes: my limiting speed at the moment is the number I can cook on my griddle at one time; not the press. For corn tortillas, use the wax paper circles and a cold press. Do not press with all your strength: corn falls apart if you get it too thin.

Heavy duty!
Weighing in at 15 lbs, it is a serious peirce os kitchen equipment. Along with tortillas, I also use it to make hamburger patties. However, don't press too hard or they will be paper thin. If you need to flatten out a chicken breast, this is the right tool. It comes with parchment sheets and would make an excellent gift.

Works good
Works pretty good. I’m still getting the hang of it after using it 4 times. We have found that heating it on the stove works great to press them but I have tried cooking them on the iron and also by xering to the pan..I have yet to get a good batch. I’ve been hand rolling and making Tortillias for years so I’m pretty good at it, I just need to get my timing down on the press and xer

Not ideal for flour tortillas
Overall not a bad tortilla press but did not keep. Nice heavy duty cast iron. Simple to use. But it doesn't press flour tortillas thin enough it's more a Naan thickness. Corn tortillas it did press a more desirable thickness but we rarely make corn tortillas and purchased to same time from hand rolling fresh flour tortillas several times a week.

My own tortillas finally!
I had been eyeing something like this for months and finally decided to order it. I love tortillas but it can get expensive. So I love this tortilla presser. It's very heavy. The size is perfect for making tortillas. It gets annoying because the flour can get stuck but parchment paper helps reduce that. Easy to use and clean.
