Very Good Quality
Awesome device. Tired of getting to class and sitting on wet pants during rainy days, I bought this. Installation was a breeze, and the fender is nice and wide. The adjustment mechanism is a ratcheting pivot type assembly. Make sure to tighten the allen bolt to keep your fender where you want it! Otherwise it will droop down and touch your tire. The fender clasps onto the seat post with a velcro type adjustment (very nice and easy to take on and off quickly).I have no doubts that this will help keep my back dry, but I'll follow up to confirm next time there is rain. After many rainy rides, this is an excellent purchase! Keeps the mud and water off my back (evidenced by the amount of stuff on the underside of the fender).

Poorly Attachment Mechanism, Designed To Fail
The way this fender attaches to your seat post with an over-center cam mechanism is great in concept, but the fact that all the parts that are then put under tension are small, plastic and susceptible to flex/relaxation is a recipe for failure when used in an environment constantly subjected to impact and vibration. Two small plastic pins, approximately the diameter of an ink pen refill, are expected to hold all the tension of this mechanism while your 18"+ long fender is hanging out there, bouncing around. Eventually the pins spread apart and pop out of the detents that they're intended to sit in when locked around the seat post, and your fender just falls off. Once it's gotten to this point, the mechanism will not hold in the lock position again, and the fender is useless. And if you don't adjust the mechanism to exert a fair amount of clamp force when locked, the fender will eventually slide down your seat post, until it's rubbing on your tire. There is absolutely no way to adjust the clamp so it stays put, without exerting the forces that will eventually cause this product to fail...POOR DESIGN!

Keeps your ass clean
Every time it rained and I had to bike, my ass was getting peppered with water and dirt from the ground. Now thanks to this ass-guard, my ass stays dry. It's the simplest, most effective way to protect your ass.

It's ok. Not GREAT.
Used for the first time today on melting snow road in NYC. I got to work fine, but didn't really pick up any speed as the roads were mostly icy from overnight freezing. This afternoon however with melted ice everywhere I rode confidently only to get home and find my backpack loaded with dirty water. I KNOW that it would have been worse without the fender, but was still shocked. Works well, just know it's limitations. Also, not sure why I see multiple complaints that the fender falls on the tire, there's a hex screw at the joint, tighten it and it will not budge.

A pretty good solution with a few drawbacks
Pros: Easy install and remove, lightweight, keeps road spray off your bum, folds out of the way for quick tire changesCons: Feels and looks cheap (especially on a nice bike), came slightly bent out of shape (and can't quite bend back into shape), takes up a surprising amount of valuable real estate on my seat postNotes: The seat post mount is about 2" tall, but I am still able to snugly fit my small under-saddle tool bag between the mount and the saddle (which I couldn't do with my heftier rear luggage rack). There is about 3" of clearance between my rear tire and the fender, which is just about right for clearing water but letting any collected mud interfere with the ride. Unfortunately, the only space for my rear light is under the fender, so it becomes more or less useless when I have fender on. For reference, I ride a 56cm Ridley X-Ride, and I keep the saddle slightly lower than the average.

Just okay.
I bought this last year and have been using it for about 3 months. The mounting/locking mechanism is absolutely awful. I do not take off the fender often, in fact, I've only taken it off 3 times, but after the first time I took it off, I noticed that it was not securely held together like how it was when I first put it on. What had happened was that the locking notch naturally got "loose" over time, probably because of the bumps in the road. So now, the lock is so loose that it could just fall off if I nudged it or I hit some bumps. I get around this by putting rubber bands over the lock so it's more secure. When it comes to the actual fender, it's not bad, but not great. It keeps your backside mostly dry, but do expect at least some dirty splash spots, especially if the rain is heavier.

would be perfect if bikes had 24" wheels
The fender is easy to attach and is made of a solid yet flexible plastic. It is definitely overpriced but at least the quality is good. The main problem i have with it is its too short to effectively prevent water or mud from shooting up onto your back. It it was even an inch longer it think it would work perfectly, I'll probably add some duct tape to the end but I can't believe they couldn't just make the thing and inch or two longer.
