What does 'unsmoked' mean?

"Unsmoked" refers to the drying process, which uses clean warm air (indirect heat) to dry the herb. This is in contrast to smoked yerba mate , which uses direct heat from wood fires to dry the herb, resulting in a smoked flavor. "Unsmoked" yerba mate has a cleaner, greener flavor.

Up to you. I would try it by itself first, then add whatever you think you need or would complement the flavor. Sometimes I add a bag of vanilla black tea with it.

What's the expiration date? 🤔

There is a date stamped on the bottom of the bag. That is the "best by" date. It is not an expiration date. The product does not have an expiration date, but it will eventually lose its excellent taste if not consumed within some years of the best by date.
