The only under desk mounted keyboard tray that will clear adjustable desk supports.
If you have an adjustable height desk and the minimum height is still not low enough to fit you ergonomically, you may have considered a keyboard tray. Unfortunately, because of the metal understructure, you can't use the normally available sliding keyboard tray. One of the most common trays is the clamp on type to solve this. However, for me, my desk has a notch that is about 26" long that means that I can only fit a clamp on tray that this about 20" long. That is able to only accommodate a full size keyboard with very little room for a mouse. I would have to get a compact keyboard to make enough space for both to work together.Enter the Vivo keyboard tray with spacer bracket. The keyboard tray is a regular undermount type that you can use on any desk, but comes with additional brackets allow you to clear the under desk supports. The tray itself is long enough for a full-size keyboard and have sufficient space for a mouse.Installation requires some handyman skills since you will have to measure, drill and screw the keyboard tray to the desk. If you are comfortable with that then the hardest part would be to plan out and measure the best way to clear obstacles and centering it on the desk. Assembling the keyboard tray was easy and instructions were clear. No parts were missing. One thing to note is that the brackets alone create a 3.5" drop from the table height. Adjusting for keyboard clearance when sliding in/out is additional.Adjusting the keyboard's height and tilt are easy lock in your fit by using the lever. The tray also rotates with little effort. Sliding the tray in and out isn't as smooth as I would like from my experience with other keyboard trays. It is a friction type consisting of plastic glides that fit on keyboard tray arm and slide in a grooves on the mounting plate. I did make it slide easier by putting a little lubricant (not included) on the plastic glides and the rail. On center strength (centered on the arm itself) is good with very little give. However, the torsional rigidity is less than I would like. If you are right handed, you will most likely put the keyboard to the left so you have room on the right to place your mouse. This means that when you type, the weight you place on the keyboard and tray all on the left side and unsupported. You will feel the tray give under the weight. I can't tell if it is because of the required allowances for the mechanical movements or because the metal isn't thick/strong enough or both.In summary, this was the best and only real solution that I could find for my particular situation. The tray works well enough, but should be better considering the price, which places it at the higher end. I would recommend this as a last resort after looking at the other types out there. It does give a clean look to your installation vs. the clamp on type which, to me, looks a bit ugly, but at around half the price or more, you'll have a sliding tray for full size keyboard and mouse. But, you'll need the room for the clamps at around 36" apart and lack of that will be the primary reason for getting this keyboard tray.

Excellent quality super easy to install
I bought 2 cheaper versions before buying this one and they had to be sent back. I love that there is no clamps on the desk. Lots of different positioning options and so easy to manoeuvre. One tip… I put the fixing unit flush with the edge of the desk, I would put it an inch or more back to allow the tray to be slid completely back under the desk. It comes out so far so you are not losing anything by fixing a little further from the edge and it would then be tidied away completely.Really good quality. Very happy!
