Good value on a solid performing fan
NZXT is known for some really excellent cases, and a few not-so-great ones as well. I was hoping that their accessories were not quite as hit and miss, and so far I can say that this product (as well as the super-cheap FN 120RB) is solid. The thing that originally drew me to NZXT fans is simple - they appear to be the only manufacturer that publishes really accurate, even conservative, specifications. Based on reviews and tests around the web, NZXT fans consistently perform within their specifications, unlike some manufacturers (CoolerMaster, I'm looking at you!).So, since I don't have the money or the patience to try fifty different case fans, I decided to try one from a manufacturer known to be truthful with their specs, and I have not been disappointed.I bought this to replace the bad "BladeMaster" fan that came with my CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ cpu cooler. Basically, I probably should have exchanged the cooler since the fan was bad, but as the cooling block itself works just fine, I decided to simply swap the fan. The included fan was slightly off-balance - at high speed it vibrated strongly and had an audible clicking sound. This fan has surpassed the BladeMaster in every way.First of all, this fan is voltage regulated (3 pin connector) and so is not automatically controllable with some motherboard headers. Not a major problem, though, since I can do voltage control with my motherboard, and that control works very well. Also, the fan comes with an attached 3-speed selector switch, so even if you don't have the ability to regulate the speed with your particular motherboard, you have an alternative to running it full-bore or buying an aftermarket fan-speed controller. At the "medium" setting, the fan is extremely quiet and appeared to keep my cpu temp just as low as the blademaster did at 100%. The fan is super quiet, thanks in part to the fluid dynamic bearing, a real upgrade from the standard sleeve and rifle bearings on cheaper fans. The high setting on this fan puts out a TON of air, but it also goes from barely-noticeable noise levels to barely-tolerable noise levels (I really hate a noisy PC, though. I bet some people wouldn't be bothered.) Although the airflow increases substantially at the highest speed, I didn't notice a significant change in CPU temps, but that's honestly not all that surprising. The highest speed would probably be of more use to people with radiators or different cooling needs - the hyper 212+, as far as I can tell, doesn't see huge improvements in cooling efficiency past a certain point, and I think mine is already performing near it's maximum potential. So, to summarize, this is a great little fan, comes with it's own controller, has a nice look to it that complements almost any case, works well as a radiator fan (high static pressure levels), and has an incredibly smooth and quiet fluid dynamic bearing that both allows you to mount the fan vertically without damaging it, but also doesn't produce the clicking sound of a rifle-bearing. Highly recommended.

dead fans
bought 6 of these , one was DOA, two more went dead after 3 days, at max rpm they are jet level noisy , however they have accepted db at mid RPMs with good CFM.

Moves air pretty well
Tried a few different fans over time. This one works pretty nice. Works better as a push/pull for water cooling than the Cougar fans, even though Cougar fans tend to have slightly better specs. Have 5 fans in my latest build with better cooling and less noise compared to my previous build.Pros:- Compared to GeForce GTX 295 fan this is dead silent. No mechanical noise, just air flow. Obviously its loud compared to specialized silent fans, but it's loud because it moves air.- Rare color scheme for color-coordinated buildsCons:- Does not play nice with fan controllers; tried NZXT Sentry LX and Corsair Carbide 600T controllers. Does not reach full speed/full air flow at max configurationOther:- Stopped using motherboard to power fans, so can't comment on thatOverall:- 5 out of 5 Performance (for Gaming fans)- 4 out of 5 Sound level (for Gaming fans)- 4 out of 5 Durability/Quality (for Gaming fans)

Great Fan, Great Options!
I recently picked up 5 120mm models for a new NZXT Switch 810. The color scheme matches, but these are also very nice fans.- They are very quiet at the "medium" setting (~1800 RPM), and quieter than the 140mm fans that came with the Switch 810(~1300RPM).- They have good bearings for mounting horizontally.- They can provide high CFM, and static pressure for those looking to benchmark, watercool, etc...- The "high" setting is pretty loud, but that is the cost of performance. For those looking to fall somewhere in between medium and high, A fan controller can find the right noise:performance ratio for you. There are a few reviews on the interwebs. They provide insight into the performance of these fans. The have very good static pressure compared to most fans of similar specifications; this makes them a solid choice for radiators. This, combined with their variable speeds and color scheme, makes them a fantastic choice for that new Switch 810 water cooling build!

The fan really moves the air and is quite impressive on its highest setting
The fan really moves the air and is quite impressive on its highest setting. There is a a manual switch you can use to set the speeds but it will increase the noise level of the fan at its highest setting.I personally would not buy this fan as the only cooling solution for my pc, the switch setting is on a wire you must deal with and hope it doesn't interfere with where you place the fan physically. I had to put mine in the back of my pc so I could thread the switch outside of the case for easy access. I have not tried to manage the fan via the motherboard provided software or via a 3rd party device. So I cannot comment on that. Overall I am pleased with the fan and its functionality for the most part.Pros:Moves a lot of air at fan's highest settingQuiet operation on lower settingsStandard install processCons:Loud on highest speed settingManual swtich to control speeds(this could also be a pro but for me it was a con)

I do not recommend this product
I recommend this product. I researched fans that would run well in the horizontal position, and this fan was my choice. Along with the normal three hole connector wire, the fan has a separate wire, (about the same length), with a three-way switch. A convenient aspect that would be handy if no controller was used. I used a controller with fans I purchased, with the switch set on the middle setting, and works great.Note: When both fans, and the controller were set to high, it sounded like a twin engine Cessna preparing for take-off.I have to update this review. After a few months both fans began rattling. So much for running in a horizontal position. It don't matter what speed they are on. I's just an annoying noise.

Fenomenale
NZXT FX 140LB

exellent
exellent fan shifts an unbelieveable amount of air and the adjustable speed is a much needed nice touch . made a nice addition to my budget build. will say that when on full speed is noisy as but on low is very quiet and still shifts enough air . will definatly recommend and the including adapter was a nice touch also./

Good fans
Good fans work well and easy to install and come with rubber mounts it only loses a star due to the packaging as it was extremely dusty when it arrived and some dirt on one off the fans.

einwandfreier Lüfter
Habe den Lüfter passend zum Phantom 410 gekauft. Und ich werde nicht entäuscht. Die Lüfter sind leistungsstark und sehr geräuscharm. Der etwas höhere Preis erscheint mir gerechtfertigt.
