Game Boy Advance SP Drop-In 3.0 IPS Backlight LCD Upgrade Kit For AGS 001 & 101 Gameboy NO SOLDER/NO TRIMMING (Black)

This was the first time I replaced a screen in a GBA SP and it turned out good! Super easy to do if you have the right tools. It really does just drop in and fits perfect like OEM. Night and day difference in quality from the OEM screen that it replaced in my AGS-001 model. I attached an image with it next to my stock AGS-101 model. It is far brighter than the AGS-101 with both at max brightness. The colors on the replacement screen are better too. Just know you will not be able to use the screen brightness button on the new screen unless you solder a wire from the board to the ribbon cable pads provided on the new unit, however it has touch buttons to change brightness built in so you can still adjust it if you need too. all in all perfect fit and great quality product well worth the money. Just be sure not to over tighten the screws around the screen bezel when re assembling it. It can cause some issues with light bleeding out from the sides if too tight. 10/10 would recommend.

I have bad eyesight and lack the motor control to do precision tinkering well, so I tend to shy away from these kinds of mods unless I feel very confident the product is going to give me every chance to "idiot-proof" the process.I'm happy to report that I hit a home run with this one. Yes, manipulating the ribbon cable was a little tricky because of my fat, dumb hands, but even I was able to get this mod to work. Now my black body with red buttons GBA has this awesome red-bordered IPS screen in it, and it looks incredible!This gets a big thumbs-up from me for providing the oafish among us with these kinds of options. Well done!

Putting it in my gba sp was easy and the screen works great. However, mine came in damaged, turning it on there was a little white dot on the screen. This is probably due to my package sitting out in the heat for a long time. I wasn't able to receive it due to work.

The media could not be loaded. Putting the the new cable in was probably the hardest part of the whole thing. I couldn't do the soldering part cause it didn't come with a wire, I'll just do it later by getting it somewhere else. It works fine without the soldering part just I feel the colors of everything bleeds into each other a bit and at max brightness it a bit of an eye sore. Pretty sure once I get the soldering done it will fix it, maybe. Love that it comes with a guide via QR code, that was a big help. The main gripe I have is the Gameboy logo is not as easily shown but overall it's worth it

The media could not be loaded. Great image with awesome options to set the screen style i.e. creating retro grid lines on the screen. Something to note it uses more power at full brightness but with new battery mods and a 3hr play test it's not bad at all.

Just going to come out and say this is the single best upgrade you can do for any game boy console that you have. I wish I would have had something like this going back to the original game boy in 1983. I have a game boy advance and game boy advance SP, both of them original and the screens were going. To top it off they weren't in the greatest conditions. Bought new shells and got the drop in IPS screen and now my daughter once again lol.Look if you're looking for something that's going to make a drastic change to your game boy playing experience, this is it hands down nothing else will make the biggest dramatic change for you and getting a backlit IPS screen.
