This game is a “treasure”, so much fun!
We LOVE Grandpa Beck’s games and this game of Another Man’s Treasure was no exception! We own several of his games and our goal is to collect them all! I love how family friendly Grandpa Beck’s games are and how easy they are to catch on to and play. This is a fun and clever rummy type game where the objective is to be the first to collect sets and runs! It also reminds me of a combination between Rummy, Yahtzee, and Phase 10 but so much more fun!The game play cards are so detailed and the artwork is absolutely creatively adorable! Be prepared to want to read each nostalgic card, they’re hilariously clever and witty; definitely a blast from the past! The instructions are detailed and easy to follow but if you need additional support, there is a QR code that links you directly to a game play tutorial video. (Another reviewer complained about the instructions not being helpful, but maybe they just didn’t take the time to read them completely or correctly as they even missed the QR code for the video tutorial). The video is actually quite entertaining AND helpful to watch, I totally recommend it!We had so much fun playing this game! After playing through once, the game play became so much more clear and we wanted to play it over and over again! This game was really easy to pick up, even for my 9 year old! It goes pretty quickly so we played several times! Each game consists of 5 rounds with the player’s choice to select one of the 5 different set and/or run patterns each round. We only played the “Classic” version but there is also a “Progressive” game play version that isn’t quite for beginners as it’s not as “easy”.This game is perfect for adults, families, and children of all ages! This game really is so much fun, even if it’s just reading the cards to peruse the vintage “treasures”!You can never go wrong with a Grandpa Beck’s game! It’s a trusted name for values, and fun family friendly games!!

Fun phase game.
This game is fun. Husband doesn't like it cause he looses haha. Similar to a phase 10 game. You try and get phases.

Overly complicated for a family game
We love Cover Your Assets and Skull King, so when I saw Another Man's Treasure on sale I didn't think twice about purchasing. For us, game nights are two parents and two kids (10 and 7). Just reading the rules for this was daunting enough that it took us over a month to attempt to play. We had to constantly refer back to the rules throughout our first game and it was nearly impossible for the kids to play without our help. We hoped this would be a good game for when extended family visits at the holidays but I can't imagine everyone listening to us explain rules for half an hour. Not a bad game but definitely depends on your game night group and age range. I'm sure we'll play it again but it's not a favorite like Skull King!

Another fun game by Grandpa Beck
I am a fan of Grandpa Beck and have a number of his games in our collection. Based on his past games, I ordered Another Man's Treasure. The game, like all of his others, is a small box game. The box is 4x5.5 inches and easily fits in a bag or even a pocket for easy travel. The box includes 2 score pads, the playing card decks a rule book and the always included Grandma Beck's recipe card. I love that they put this in but for many of the games it was always the same recipe. With Another Man's Treasure I got the new Dill Pickle Dip recipe. It's the little things that make me smile! The gameplay is like Gin Rummy but ramped up. It is a fast paced game where you are trying to gather and play sets faster than your opponents. The main difference is that, if another player has a card or cards you need, you can negotiate and barter with them to get it. Be careful on your negotiating skills as you might end up with cards you don't want or need. The game is easy to get to the table, easy to teach and a blast to play. The card stock used is medium quality and there isn't a lot of flex to the cards, the artwork (as always) is whimsical and fits the theme and the rulebook is easy to understand. I especially love that they have included pictures of the Donner family who were part of the game creation process. There are also cards in the deck that pay homage to them as well.Like all their other small box games, Another Man's Treasure is priced at $17. For the fun and enjoyment you will get from the gameplay, it is definitely worth the asking price.

A fun game
If you like playing cards, this game could be for you. It's a combination of Rummy and yahtzee. It's a rummy game that has you collecting runs and sets with the added bonus of some fun pictures of old treasures from the past. The cards are beautifully made and are a nice addition to the game of rummy. The pictures will have you strolling down memory lane with pictures of items you may have stashed away in a closet, attic or basement, or just something that you may have owed years ago. I mentioned Yahtzee because of the score pad that comes with the game. You have to acquire certain combinations of sets and runs in each turn; you then mark them off on your score pad as completed just like in the game of yahtzee where you have to get runs of numbers, sets of numbers or even combinations of sets. The first player to complete the list of required combinations is the winner. It's a fun game for up to 6 players
