Secrets of Expert Mold Making and Resin Casting

This is an an excellent book on mold making and resin casting. I'm about to dive into some casting projects and I look forward to using the tips in this book to get excellent quality results. I was impressed by the clarity of the instructions and the quality of the illustrations which made it easy for me to understand the nuances of the process. I especially enjoyed the section on the use of a pressure chamber and vacuum chamber which will help me produce professional level castings.

An easy-read, yet through guide to silicone RTV molding and resin casting. It's a solid book for beginner to intermediate level people. If you cast stuff for a living and have years of experience, this book probably won't reveal anything all that new to you.

The book is pretty clear and has typical illustrations for it's kind. It was useful for what I am doing, I probably would use it with other items like product that you want to cast descriptions

Wanted to learn about casting things and this looked like a good book to start with.

Good text on the basics of casting. I'm using that learning right now (I have a mold forming even as I do this). Good book.

I can't wait to try out the instructions. It looks easier than I thought it would be. All I need to do is get the materials to cast.

Very little information in this book. Could be helpful if you're completely new to resin casting, but still it's over priced. Would be worth 5 dollars maybe. Would not recommend. You could learn more watching a few YouTube videos on the subject.

Having been resin casting for 10 years, with apparently great success I was hoping for some "Secrets" to be revealed. Complex molds or even some photos of how to design them would have been nice. Maybe keeping it simple is the "secret"! I would however recommend this to some one starting to cast resins.

This was brought to my attention by friends on a modelling web forum. I have dome some resin casting myself before but the information contained in this book will certainly take my skills up to a new level. I have only read the first few chapters but skimming ahead I can see is going to be a very useful reference for any future casting work.

Arrival was unexpectedly fast, so highly recommended! As for the book, if it does not advise on the specific questions I had in mind, it certainly is an indispensible primer. There is no possibility for anyone who reads it carefully to go wrong so I call it a very sensible guide.

I don't like writing negative reviews unless the seller has been a real pain, but in this instance I was rather dissapointed with this book. With the large number of resins and mould making materials available I was hoping to get some insight into the best materials to use, but there is very little about different resin types and their applications.There is some good stuff in here and it is not an expensive book, but don't imagine you will be getting anything inspirational or comprehensive. There is a lot about mould design and rather too much on building pressure chamber ovens. Personally I have learned more from watching YouTube videos.

I thought that this book would help me understand the basics of mold making, god, what a waste of money. It appeared that the author was good at drawing pictures, with the only value of letting a young child color the shapes in. Totally unimpressed.
