PolyGroup X1000 GFCI PUMP FOR SFX1000 SKIMMER CANISTER SYSTEMS

This is my first replacement pump and I had my original pump for over 4 years. This pump (PolyGroup X1000) arrived quickly and works great, and it does fit my SFX1500+ Summer Waves Elite pool system. It is important to note to make sure to loosen the screw-on cap on the pump housing before attaching to pool...over tightening can/will cause the rotor assembly to lock up, which I learned the hard way, and the tech support advised us to loosen the cap to prevent locking up and breaking the impeller and ceramic shaft pin. This advice helped my original pump last over 4 years with heavy use, after locking up once and I hope it can help someone else, as these parts are expensive and hard to come by this summer. Exactly what I was looking for. My old pump quit working so I ordered this one and got my pool up and running again. A lot cheaper than having to replace the pool. Very pleased with my purchase.

The fact that this product does not provide the information that the motor only runs 10 hrs per day is very deceiving. After installing this product within days algae began to grow. I did not previously have this issue with the pump that allowed me to run in 24 hrs a day. People should have a choice how long they run their pool pump for. I will never make a purchase from this vendor again. I spent $125 on this pump and now I have to pay additional money to get rid of the algae plus purchase another pump. I would love to give this vendor / product 0 starts however that’s not an option. Hopefully people read this and don’t make the same mistake I did.

Bought this replacement after the original was ran over by the lawn mower and it is more powerful and the cord is longer. Only down side is that the pump cost almost as much as the pool did.

I like the skimmer and vacuum feature that this pump offers and when the pump works, it does a great job. What I don't like is that I can't seem to keep a pump that works. We've had our pool (this month makes the beginning of the 3rd summer) and I just ordered our FIFTH PUMP!! The last pump I ordered was received on May 17th and died today, June 9th. I ordered a new pump today, hoping to get it before my pool gets nasty over the next week while I try to get the last pump replaced. This is so frustrating. We will go back to Intex for our pool and pump next year. The Intex pumps outlast the Intex pools and for the amount I've spent in pumps over the last 3 years, I could have gotten a decent sized Intex pool for my kids this summer.

Garbage. Received July 9. Today is July 25. This pump has already stopped working. I have returned and replaced the pump on my pool more times than I like to admit and I still end up with garbage. I should have made a bet with my husband. I would have won. Playgroup makes garbage and needs to be put out of business.
