How I Met Your Mother - Season 1-5 [DVD]

How I Met Your Mother is brilliant. If you don't laugh out loud at this then you've not got a sense of humour. The basic storyline is Ted, played by Josh Radnor (Not Another Teen Movie), telling his now teenage kids (set in 2030), the story of how he met their mother. Except Ted tells every detail of the story! The main cast are all hilarious. You have college sweethearts Marshall, Jason Segal (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), and Lily, Alyson Hannigan (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and Ted tells the story of how their relationship develops. There is also the girl Ted thinks is his future Mrs Moseby, Robin, played by Cobie Smulders (The Long Weekend). But the best and most hilarious character is womanizer, Barney, played by Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser, M.D.). You're doing yourself an injustice if you don't give How I Met Your Mother a try as it's the best American sitcom since Friends (and that's saying something!)

How I met your Mother is probably my favorite show to date, and i can't imagine i will ever stop watching it!It's just like friends, it never gets old, keeps being funny, and you truly care for the characters involved which is actually quite rare in TV these days i think. Is is also a lot cheaper to buy this 1-5 pack and then buy season 6,7 and now also 8, separately. You will save almost 60 pounds insteed of the 1-7 boxs.To sum up, if you love this show, why not own it? It is very cheap for so many seasons, and i am sure you will enjoy having it as much as I do!

First at all I have to say I'm from Germany and soI was looking for HIMYM on amazon.de.There are only the seasons 1-4 avaiable and they costmore than this box 1-5...Another case in which amazon-uk was the better choice =)The actors are some of the best sitcom actors I've ever seen.The stories are great written with many moments of surprise,amazing funny dialogues and catchy phrases.While watching you are really looking forward to see the futuremother... but you should watch it yourself ;)To quote Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris):This show is LEGEN- wait for it - DARY!!!

While not being cheap, I consider this box to be good value for money, simply because you have a LOT of entertainment crammed into it at a price that won't hurt. (... much ;-) )Box design etc. is nothing fancy, but at the end of the day you're buying it for the content. It has the correct format to fit properly into a standard DVD shelf, while only taking up as much room as 5 single DVD's normally do.

It's a great thing to have 5 episodes of this great series, and i agree to all the 5 star ratings... 1 thing to add is that in the first episode, when they are eating in the chinese restaurant that was to that moment lily's appartement, theres a song played from a mixtape, but in the episode that was played in tv, it's the song "i get knocked down, but i get up again..." but in this collection it's another lame song, i guess thats because of the money or something... only detail i figured out..GREAT THING!!! TOTALLY BUY IT!

Just finished series 1 and I can say I am very happy with my purchase. This series was actually reconmended to me by a friend and it's hilarious, best comedy series in my view since friends. That said the humour is a little darker and having just finished the entire Box set of friends previously took me a few episodes to adjust.Great characters and plot so far, many laugh out loud and cry moments. Punchlines that just keep coming and worth the money and investment in my personal view!!If you decide to purchase Enjoy!!

I am from Germany and the first Season I tried to watch in TV is season 5. I did not laugh even once while watching the first video. But my friends kept saying they laughed their ass off. So I tried some videos in english which I watched at a friends. As I always take it as a challange to understand English texts I watched on and on and by now, having seen Season 1 to 4, I really love this Sitcom!It's just like they once said: This is awesome, wait for it, some!

早く届きました。包装もよかったてす。中身もきれいでした。パソコンで観てますが、ちゃんと英語の字幕もでるし、中身もいっぱい入ってておトクな分、一抹の不安があったのですが、その心配は吹き飛びました。すばらしいです。

I'm not a huge television fan, but HIMYM is one of the few shows that I watch almost religiously, whether I watch online or when the episode runs on cable. When I purchased this set, it was cheaper than if I had bought the five seasons individually (not sure if that is the case now).This show is incredibly entertaining, but I really didn't appreciate how intricate the writing is until seeing it unfold chronologically. This is one show where watching it from the beginning really adds to the entertainment value. Many other shows are pretty much the same week to week, so watching episodes out of sequence is fine and doesn't really make me want to purchase the season. HIMYM is different from most sitcoms in that every episode builds upon the last, and to get all the inside jokes and references you have to see it from the beginning.The complexities of all the different storylines and how one storyline from a prior season comes up two seasons later to be revisited is awesome, and makes the viewer feel like they're in on the joke (ie Slapsgiving, Robin Sparkles, Doctor X). Also, watching the characters develop over several seasons is a real treat and puts most other television shows to shame. The backdrop of NYC serves as an additional treat; I've been to NYC several times and it's always fun to see places I've visited pop up in different episodes. I enjoy hearing the main character's (Ted's) narrative and point of view.It also is still running strong in the eighth season when many other shows I used to like that have made it that far (eg The Office) have grown kind of stale. This is undoubtedly one of those rare, great shows.

Die Bild- und Tonqualität der Staffeln ist super.Die Serie macht süchtig von der ersten Episode an. Vor allem Neil Patrick Harris ist ein Gott des Comedy!Unbedingt kaufen, unbedingt, anschauen und nie mehr weglegen!!
