The Rise And Fall Of The Krays [DVD] [2017]

Bloody portrayal of two nasty people
The story of the Kray brothers is too well known for further comment. I did not think the actors were chosen for their physical resemblance to the brothers but nevertheless they succeed in producing a chilling impression of psychopathic violence in the gangland of London. I can recommend this product on those grounds.

Scary !
This two part story about the rise and fall of the Kray brothers is very well done and makes you realise what a frightening gang Ron & Reg put together. Each of the two discs run at just under two hours each so the story is well told and not rushed. I also liked the way that it did not get bogged down with the Krays mother as I thought the Kemp brothers Krays film did. It also lets you know that Ron was a homosexual but again it does not get overdone. The two brothers were very nasty pieces of work indeed but you sense that Reg wanted a more normal life, however Reg was a very violent schizophrenic who when he did not take his medication turned into a monster. Reg was often left to clean up after Ron's violent outbreaks. Very good indeed and much better than other films I have watched about the Kray's.

Twin feature surprise.
I didn't read the bumpf properly so watched "fall of . . ." first. Only found "Rise of The Krays:" when looking for extras.Excellent if violent drama except they look unconvincing as juveniles.

not bad
I watched this on tv first and was disappointed when they didn't show the second one, so I bought this, the second one isn't as good as the first but a good watch anyway if you like Kray films

Great Watch
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this as it provided a good insight into the lives of the Krays. The production of the documentary and the individuals they got interviews with made the documentary even better. All I can say is that, despite really enjoying this, you should just watch the movie 'Legend' with Tom Hardy and get a visual interpretation of what happened with the Krays. The information shared is very very similar and its probably more appealing to watch in the movie. None the less I would recommend this for anyone fascinated by the Kray Twins. Please click on the “Yes” button below if this review has been helpful thank you

Gangsta!
Really enjoyed both films - the first one slightly more than the second, but both are well worth watching. Kevin Leslie shines more as Reggie in the second film, whereas the first film belongs to Simon Cotton (Ronnie) but both are really talented actors who deserve a long and successful acting career. Phil Dunster (Dickie) is also a very charismatic actor and a joy to watch.
