Worked as expected. Just drilled a normal hole as directed, didn't sand or anything, and it works great.

We built a filter for our little pond. It works well. It was difficult to figure out how to push the pvc pipe in but we figured it out. My husband and I have lost strength over the years. But he got the bright idea to use a bar clamp to push the pvc pipe through the uniseal. It worked great!

These things are great and work on curved surfaces--never had one leak yet. For the larger ones, get a rough file and bevel the edge of the pipe A LOT and back about 3/4 inch. Smear silicone inside the uniseal. Use a tee on the end of the pipe to have something to push with. I use these on containers for pond filters and on fish tanks. Also created filters from flower pots and aerial bucket liners using these. Also worked on a preformed pond, old swimming pool sand filter (on the curved part) and one of those filter falls. I have had bulk head fittings leak but never a uniseal.

These are nice quality rubber seals, and are certain to hold up better than some cheap big-box store grommets. However, They are still a bit spendy for what they are. I don't mind buying once and crying once as long as I know it will save me in the long run.
