Very effcient little machine
Very quiet, very low wattage (cheap to run), and can be left on permanently, 24/7 if you want. It does a fairly decent job for such a small machine. It has drastically reduced the damp in the bedroom. It draws almost as much moisture as the big one I have that cost me £100! The big one is noisy, uses a lot of electricity (high wattage) and takes up room. I had been running the big one for 2 hours a day, when really I needed to be running it for 4 hours a day. This little gem draws that same amount of water in 6 hours that the big one draws in 2, but costs a fraction of the electricity, is very quiet and sits unnoticed on a shelf. I'm running it 12 hours over night every night and it has solved the damp problem. 12 hours a day of this little gem is doing as good a job as 4 hours of the big one, but this little one is cheaper to run, much smaller and it's quite. Brilliant little machine.

Does the job!
I often have to air my laundry inside my spare bedroom so I worry about the room getting damp. I used to use the disposable dehumidifiers but this winds up being costly and sometimes messy when replacing the capsule. This plug in is great as it's low cost and space efficient! It drew in moisture quickly and the thing I like the most about it is, is that it's compact. It's sturdy and comes with very clear instructions. The only thing to note, is that when turned on, it does omit a very slight 'hum', but it is constant so I find it more like white noise and disappears; so although it doesn't bother me personally and I do recommend the product, I've taken off 1 star because if it was silent, it would be perfect!

Fantastic device!
After reading other reviews on comparable items I decided to opt for two of these , at time of writing this review they are available through Argos for £50 each. I live in a 1930s Art Deco apartment with crittall metal frame windows so condensation on them to the rear of the flat ( North Facing) is horrendous, black mold was forming on new paint work and the walls around the window's. After seeking advice from experts who came in with costs for one new crittall double glazed window of £1500 I decided to take the advice of a woman who lives above and get de humidifiers' & what a fantastic purchase they have been, I've had them two weeks and already the difference is huge . No more buying rolls of budget kitchen towl to mop up the water forming from condensation, that formed both day and night . What I will say is for best results , when the weather is damp / raining these must be left on constantly to remove and stop condensation forming. I've watched my electricity meter over the last several days of these de humidifiers' running constantly and after dividing my normal power consumption these work out to just over £1.23 a week to run. Absolutely fantastic & I did also compare to make absolute sure my maths are not out on this one . Please note for best results these must be left on constantly over wet / damp days or you'll wake up on damp morning and find your condensation issues are the same ... Hence other reviews saying these don't work.. And I to made the mistake of turning them off before bed and also when I leave home! Noodles level from there de humidifiers' is really unnoticeable, only a faint hum so I've had no problems sleeping with one on in the bedroom window.

great little dehumidifier for inside wardrobe
I am very pleased with this dehumidifier, which I run on a timer plug for about 20 hours a week inside fitted wardrobes in my bedroom to prevent mustiness/mould on clothes I wear less often. The tank needs emptying about every three weeks in winter, more often in summer. This is about how frequently I used to have to replace a crystal-type moisture trap in the same space - I gave up on those after twice finding it had been knocked over and flooded my shoe rack with chemical solutions - and the running cost is way cheaper than buying new moisture trap crystals. With the cupboard door closed it is inaudible so I have no problem leaving this on overnight. However, it did take a while to get going. For the first few days/weeks of use I was unimpressed with how very little water it drew out of the air and almost sent it back, but now I'm glad I gave it time. I also find it becomes more effective if left on continuously for longer periods rather than in short bursts, so 2 x 10 hours on two days a week works better than three hours every day. This is great for small enclosed spaces, but if you need it to dehumidify a larger area eg a whole room, or to deal with condensation, this would probably not be enough to make a noticeable difference.

Not for small rooms
I have an old house which produces a lot of condensation in the downstairs bedroom due to it being the previous bathroom. I purchased this in hope to reduce the puddles of water I keep finding on the units. It does work in some aspects, the room feels dryer and there is less water than before. However for such a small room (200cm wide by 300cm long) I would expect it to absorbe all water. Unfortunately this doesn't.More suited to a cupboard than a small room.I wouldnt buy this again but for the money it was worth a try.

Need A De-humidifier For A Small Room? THIS is the one you need!
We now have three of these little de-humidifiers from Puremate to take care wardrobes and cupboards that suffer from condensation. They are totally reliable, silent and really work at getting all the water out of the air.Couldn't be easier to use!Remove from the box and plug it into a nearby power socket and it silently works away at sucking the moisture out of the air. Just allow enough room around it for the air to be drawn in and out.Once it's full it stops automatically and all you have to do is remove the container and pour away the water.Put the container back and away it goes again. Our first one has been around for a couple of years now and it is completely reliable.Look no further if you need such a device, this one is perfect!
