12 Inches of goodness!
It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it. And I use it all the time. It has never let me down. It's rigid as one would expect, but you can apply force and bend it. It's actually funny to bend it, then release it, and watch it flex into shape.I have the 6 inch version of this, but it really isn't big enough. In that particular case, size does matter. So I got the 12 incher. And man o man, what a difference. I can tell you now, I'll never go back to the 6 incher. It has been replaced.I'm looking at it right now. I've been using it so much. I even use it when I am on the phone with somebody. Sad, but true.

Far superior to the hard plastic rulers!
I love the cork on the back - grip but not sticky. The edges are sharp enough to tear paper but not cut skin. The numbers and lines are easy to see and it has a hole non one end that fits the switch on my ceiling fan perfectly! It's just the right length to switch the fan direction for winter or summer. Hey, it's a multi purpose ruler! Everyone in the office has one.

Great, except for one thing
I love this ruler except for one thing. The point on the ruler that is 0 inches is not at the end of the ruler, so for many uses, I have to subtract 3/16 of an inch.

Just as I remember.
Stupid as it may sound to some, but this is the ruler I grew up with and is still as great as the one I just purchased. I prefer these over the classic wooden rulers. Most of my use is drawing straight lines, but it has a very nice layout as far as measurement lines go. The cork backing lifts it off of the paper so you can draw a line without skipping the edge.Anyway, it's the perfect addition to any home office.

The accursed thing did exactly what I wanted it to do, measuring up. Of curse, as to the nature of the thing, it inched off and hid somewhere, probably ruling some dust bunnies with an straight edge.

Back to schooooool
It is what it is. I got roped into a pantry purchase because I so totally wanted to get this for a single dollar. Jokes on me though, I saw the same ruler at walmart for 98 cents 2 days later. It's not super fine quality or anything. Run of the mill, old-school type ruler with a cork textured bottom.

Great product great price last a lifetime.
Stainless steel rulers are superior, and having a cork bottom is great for stability. I've had to purchase many stainless steel rulers in my lifetime and they last forever ? I still have every single one that I ever purchased. I now have a variety of lengths and ones with and without cork.

Ruler that will rule all!
Great ruler, sturdy yet flexible. Something weird I noticed on mine though, the centimeter side is labeled 'mm' for millimeters- I guess I got a misprinted version, not a big deal though, just had me thinking I didn't know mm vs cm!
