Product fitment is very nice. Instructions included are detailed and useful. This tail light looks great, functions good, is Very bright and even has a tag light. Tested in the rain and still works perfectly. Better than other alternatives in my opinion.

The media could not be loaded.  So glad that someone finally made a better modern light and direct fit for the bike. I am absolutely shocked at how insanely bright this taillight is. Plus I finally have a plate light again too. Super easy to wire, 3 wires and explained in the directions. Very reasonably priced. The only thing I could possibly suggest is making the wires that come with it longer. They are extremely clean bullet connectors, but if the effort was made for that might as well make it long enough to just plug into the factory spot. I had to cut/shorten to wire in. Absolutely would recommend to anybody with an XR650L. Should come like this from the factory.

Easy install, but it requires cutting existing OEM tail light wiring. New light wiring comes with three male bullet connectors;No female bullet connectors are supplied and must be purchased separately to complete installation. Worth the effortbecause thus light really cleans up the rear fender compared the hideously ugly OEM tail light and mount. Brighter than OEM light, too.Like another review here, I agree the light should come with a rubber gasket between the light and fender.

The light bolts right on to a factory XR650L fender, all that is needed with newer machines is to adapt the factory wires to the new tail light (5 minute job, highly recommend solder and shrink tube along wtih the bullet connector).The running light is much brighter than the incandesent factory light, and also brighter than the popular XR600/XR650R tail light.The brake light is even brighter, and VERY visable in the day time. Added bonus is the way this new tail light is designed, the light shines VERY brightly in the correct pattern to be most visable to traffic behind the motorcycle.Highly recommend!!

This LED taillight was an easy replacement for the bulky stock taillight assembly. I'm super stoked with it so far, been running it for about three months now. Far more visible than stock light and consumes less watts!

For something that was supposed to be a direct 'drop-in' replacement' on the XR650L, it's pretty lacking.For starters, the wiring is too short to simply plug into the factory harness (and doesn't have bullet connectors), and unnecessarily long for splicing, which you will have to do. Not only that, the wiring exits straight down out of the tail lamp base with a rubber grommet/boot that's too long, and doesn't allow for the immediate 90 degree bend it needs to take in order to run along the top of the fender. It should have exited the tail lamp from the side to alleviate this issue. You will need to cut a slit in the grommet to allow the wiring to bend 90 degrees which makes it pointless.Wiring colors do not match the stock colors, nor make much sense. You will definitely need the instructions.The included washers do not work well with the hole and plastic on the stock fender, and you will need to source new ones. There really should be some kind of gasket or foam rubber material on the bottom to mate to the fender and there isn't any. I added foam rubber weather stripping to provide a better seat/seal to the fender.It works, it looks fine, it's not terribly expensive, but a few changes could have made it much better.

It’s for a rebuild on a mostly off road motorcycle, I actually thought it was going to be smaller, when I ordered it, but once it was installed it looked great and as my wife says it would actually show up better on the road, so bigger might be safer! It’s nice quality, seems well made.

Installed on my 2008 xr650l. Fitment was okay, but not great. I was initially very impressed with the brightness, but after one week of use (about 200 miles) it stopped working correctly. The brake light stayed on 100% of the time, but would not return to the running light mode when the brake was released. I removed it to find out that the plastic on the back of the light was falling apart, and the mounting bolts were hardly attached to the back of the light (see photo). I reinstalled the factory light, and that works fine. I would avoid this light.
