I purchased this specific hedge trimmer as it had the longest extension I could find. After it arrived, I didn’t use it immediately. When I did use it I found the battery worked for the duration of my short project but would not stay charged if the tool was not used. After a couple uses, the battery would no longer charge at all. The trimmer came with a 30 day warranty and by the time I realized the battery was defective, it was 6 weeks after I took delivery of the tool. I contacted the company by email and they replied within 24 hours. They indicated they would send me a replacement battery at no charge. I received it within 5 days. It was obvious I had a defective battery from the beginning but technically it was out of warranty when I did realize it and yet they stood by their product. The hedge trimmer itself is very sturdy and well constructed and works exactly as advertised. I highly recommend this hedge trimmer when you have high branches to trim. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another Maxlander tool in the future.

Works well….slightly heavy

This works well and gets the job done. The blade cuts though the bush with ease minus it gets snaged on some thicker pieces. The battery life is decent. Its not to heavy to carry around. Everything came with the bush trimmer as described the battery charger is a big plus. The only con about this is the trimmer only takes the maxlander brand battery. Nothing wrong with the battery but I wish this trimmer had a universal battery port because any other brand of power tool battery you have personally own will not work with this . So it got 4 stars just because of that but over all this will be useful when needed and I would recommend the protection plan in case this it breaks or damaged when receiving this item. I ordered the 22 inch blade.

First off when extended to 16 feet it is a lot more than 8 1/2 lbs but having said that it is not to the point where it is a bear to use. I found it is just what I need it is well constructed the head swivels to many different angles and the strap provided with it helps u hold the weight also removing the extension rod makes it a real tool for different trimming applications the gloves safety glasses and hand trimmer makes it a full package I would buy it again the trimmer itself makes a fine cut and is not overly loud like some cheap trimmers are Good Product not having to fool with a cord makes it even better..

I just received this item and tried to use it. Charged battery and put together as instructed. It still did nothing. Called Amazon who sent me the company’s email address. Sent them a message and I received back that my message permanently failed. There is no way to contact the company about their defective device.

Just received this a few days ago so we've only used it once, but it totally worked for our needs. Purchased mainly for use on tall holly trees which have grown over our deck. Worked very well, without any issues. Didn't use it for an extended period of time, but the battery life was fine. My only regret is the $10 offer that Amazon has for this product wasn't there a week ago, that would have made it an even better deal!

I was looking at getting a battery powered hedge trimmer and since I already have DeWalt tools, started with that. They have a similar trimmer but it was a lot more money and the reviews were iffy. I saw this trimmer on Amazon for a lot less and the reviews were very good, so I thought it was worth a try. I'm really happy I took the chance on this trimmer.I have a right away that is 175' long, with extremely tall hedges and bushes (my neighbor's hedges that they don't trim). Each spring I dread getting out the hedge trimmer, ladder and multiple extension cords. While it's still a big job, this tool makes it way more easy. No ladders and no extension cords. I took it out of the box and started cutting and got through 80% of the job before the battery died, and this was off the charge it came with. I've only used it once, but so far I am very impressed. I wish I would have found this years ago.

Fair price and works well

I have a high hedge and it trimmed it just fine. Yes it can be weighty but that's to be expected. Will only need to use it few times a year.

Pros: easily cuts through 3/8 thick branches. Extension made it easy to cut my hedge. Battery still good after 60' of cedar hedge. Price. Seems well made. Very sharp.Cons: heavy. You'll get a workout...l was holding it verticle with right angle head unit.Won't cut 3/4" branches as advertised.

This is a beauty! Cuts through thicker branches, extends pretty high. Fun to use!
