Rare Caviar Grey Gray Himalayan Salt Lamp-Made in Pakistan- Chenab (5-7 lbs, 8" to 9") - Dimmer Cord- Rosewood Base- hymalain Salt Lamps

I ordered a Pearly White Himalayan salt lamp. What I received was a Cavair Grey lamp that was shipped in a box clearly labeled Pearly White. I sent a message to the seller explaining the issue. While I told them that I had decided to keep the lamp I received, I asked if I could possibly get a discount on a white lamp if I ordered one this year. To date, I haven't received a response from the seller. They lost half a star due to indifferent customer service. The Cavair Grey lamp I received is beautiful. However, when the dimmer is on high, it only emits the amount of light that a plug-in nightlight gives off. I don't think the lamp will work with a higher watt bulb than a 25 watt chandelier bulb due to the small space inside the lamp. With all the lights off, it gives off a very faint orange glow in the dark room. This is fine for a bedroom, but might be less light than one might like in a living or multipurpose room. The plastic piece which holds the bulb socket in place fell out of the lamp when I took the lamp out of the box. The metal prongs that hold it in place are too loose in the lamp that I received. It took me a few minutes to get the socket piece to finally stay in the lamp when I turned it upright. But it still falls out whenever I move the lamp. Perhaps the springs on the prongs should be tightened or outside metal tabs added to keep the plastic socket piece in place ensuring that the bulb stays in the center of the lamp and doesn't rest on the inside salt wall. I took another half star off for this easily fixed issue. I have noticed a small improvement in the odor control in my large bedroom. But with pets, you'd probably need two of the largest salt lamps per room to get noticeable improvement.

This is the second lamp I bought. I returned the first one because it was too small. This one is the correct size, but it being larger the brightness is almost zero. With the included 15 watt bulbs and the dimmer switch all the way up the light is barely visible even in a dark room. I decided to go on a search for higher wattage bulbs. I didn’t realize how difficult it is to find 25 or 30 watt bulbs that are small enough to fit in a salt lamp. I even bought a set on Amazon that were higher wattage and claimed to fit my lamp only to find they were no brighter than the ones I already had. After much trial and error and many trips back to stores to return or exchange wrong bulbs, I finally found some at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Of course, not in stores, I had to order them. When I finally tried them out in the lamp they were better than the original 15 watt bulbs but still lacked the brightness I was hoping for. Even with the dimmer at max the room has to be very dark in order for it to be seen.I know this is due to the large size of the lamp. It’s difficult for the light to shine through the thicker stone. I wish the manufacturer had thought of that and made modifications to the larger lamps or possibly made brighter, higher wattage bulbs available to switch with the original ones.I emailed the seller/manufacturer a couple of times and asked for recommendations on how to make the lamp brighter, but so far I haven’t received any reply.

SOOOO happy I took a chance. This vender has these priced fairly low for the quality of the lamp. I highly suggest grabbing one before the prices rise. I have many pink lamps in my home, but was looking for a darker salt chunk I can have in my bedroom and keep the light turned all the way up without being disturbed in my sleep by the light. ***Remember, to get the air quality/health benefits that salt chunk HAS to be warm to the touch. The dimmer when put down low, does NOT keep the salt chunk warm, at least not in my home. Darker colored Salt lamps marketed towards bedroom use can start at $60 a pop and those are small sizes.I got the midsized lamp in grey. The color of grey is on the lighter side but when the lamp is on, I only have light shining through a small section, that I can just point torwards my wall "I DON'T have to turn this off at night while sleeping, kinda like a dim nightlight". I do keep my lamp right next to me/side of my bed though. If across the room, I don't think I would need to have the light facing the wall. Quality of the base is very nice. The socket is a fixed piece so you don't have to worry about those clamp style sockets moving around in the chunk of salt. Mine came with 2 bulbs, which is nice, but not needed for me as I buy my salt lamp bulbs in bulk on Amazon. The shape of the salt chunk is very nice too. Not sheared off on one side and it does not lean like the tower of Pisa = a very well shaped/sculpted lamp for a cheap price.I will try to add pictures later is Amazon allows, sometimes pictures go through, sometimes not, lol.Oh, forgot to mention, yes this is real salt. I always give a quick taste test to be sure when I buy mine ;)I may even buy a 2nd lamp from this vender in the largest size because it was such a nicely shaped lamp and I already have many in my home.

Its a beautiful lamp. It definitely has better sides but the way it was attached to the base places the "less attractive" side of the lamp in the front, a little disappointing but its still nice looking. I actually bought 2, a pink and a gray lamp. The pink is by far the most popular with my kids. My daughter and son both like the gray but the lighting is soooo dim that you have to turn the dimmer to full for it to be a nightlight (and still is very dim). When its turned to the high setting the lamp itself gets VERY HOT. So much that I could not touch it. Its not safe for it to be used in a kids room when it gets that hot. Odd that the pink does not get hot even when turned to highest setting, not really even warm? The pink is very bright but easily dimmed. I gave only 4 stars because it gets soo hot. Great for an adult room BUT not for a kids room- unless will be completely out of reach. Even so this is a beautiful product and I will be purchasing another pink lamp to replace this gray one.
