SnugFleece Original Wool Mattress Pad - Queen

I am a SIDE sleeper and was beginning to experience some hip and lower back discomfort while sleeping and upon waking in the morning. We started out by replacing our mattress. After still experiencing some discomfort, I decided to try a wool mattress pad. I read a lot of reviews before ordering it and decided to give it a try, ordering the thickest one. At this point, I will just say that the pad is "just ok"....it didn't meet my expectations....I don't get that "ahhhhh this is so wonderful!" feeling when I lay upon it at night...and...it certainly doesn't look like the one in the picture...the wool does compress when you lay/sleep on it..... I think you would have to "fluff" (vacuum) every day to get it to do that...I would NOT encourage any of my friends to buy this item.....

We had previously tried memory foam pads and did not like the way they felt. This mattress pad is much better, provides some cushion but not too much, you don't notice it's even on the bed like you do with memory foam. It does flatten over time but I just use a wire dog brush to brush it out and it fluffs back up, not a big deal.

I have what is often considered the best mattress made today but it still was NOT comfortable enough for me. I knew changes had to be made if I wanted a good night's rest. I remembered the comfort of my massage therapist's massage table so I copied what she put on her massage table. I bought a queen egg crate and put it on top of my mattress then I purchased the snugFleece (antibacterial) wool mattress pad in queen and put it on top of the egg crate and covered all of it with a thin sheet (100% bamboo sheet set which is also antibacterial). I sleep soundly now. It feels like I am sleeping on a large puffy cloud yet it gives my back the support it needs. I wake up without the back pains and the soreness that I felt upon waking for years. I bought more egg crates and snugFleece for all the beds in my house and sent a set of each to my adult children so they could enjoy a great nights sleep.

i have the elite in a full size and love it; i up graded my bed to queen so i "up graded" to their original which according to their web site, is the best..big mistake! the sheep smell did not bother me, nor all the shedding which i expected..BUT where the sheep wool is "adhered" to the backing was SUPER SHARP and actually could feel this in many places, hurting me. the company would not work with me at all; i wanted to exchange for elite queen; i had to pay return shipping, ( alot) then the deducted the "free-shipping" ( ha) from my return. out about 50.00. very poor customer relations!! i do want to say the wool was super soft; if they had just replaced it with one that was not defective i may have loved it. so make absolutely sure before you buy as exchanges and or returns very difficult; as well as a very un helpful company.

I was, of course, a little skeptical about the rave reviews. But I have to say . . I've now had three nights on the fleece pad and slept straight through each night which, pre-purchase, I never did. So far I love it. A tip - do vacuum it before you use it; there was lots of loose fluff. I was too excited to try it to bother with vacuuming and I'm pretty sure it would have been even better if I had. I also have a very hard mattress and ended up having to put another very thick pad under the fleece pad, but think that if you have a normally pretty comfortable mattress you wont need to supplement like I did. Overall, five stars for an uninterrupted night's sleep!!

This wool mattress pad is keeping me from getting really hot with my newly purchased mattress, however, this item throws off so much of the wool fabric. My floor has so much fleece on the floor, sticks to my dark navy bedsheets, I'm hoping once it felts a bit it will settle down -- but I do not recommend this mattress pad for this reason.

If you want a really good nights sleep try the SnugFleece Mattress Pad. It fit just right on my new queen size bed. The first night there was a "new" smell but after it aired out for a day the smell went away. I cannot put in words how soft yet firm the pad is. We still had warm nights when I got it and the pad allowed for a cool sleep. When the weather turned cold the pad was toasty warm. It is worth the money.
