It's a wrench, but it's a very, very, handy wrench. It solves the most annoying issue with the regular thumb-screw style adjustable wrenches. - Instead of losing your adjustment and having to fiddle with the thumb screw each time you take the wrench off of your bolt, because the adjustment went too loose to turn or two narrow to span the bolt head- it doesn't matter. Open the wrench wide with the slide, and then close it quickly around the bolt head. - It takes a fraction of a second, and makes the whole process much easier.

It is worth noting that this is thicker than a traditional adjustable wrench and twice as heavy. Craftsmanship and engineering is really cool and I bought a couple more for the novelty standpoint as someone who collects unique tools but the functionality is somewhat questionable as opposed to a traditional adjustable. It is easy to adjust and good in a pinch but I’m not ready to throw out my tried and true adjustables. I haven’t put it to the test thoroughly as far as testing it’s strength but I have some mild concerns about the mechanical internals taking as much torque as it’s counterparts.

This is a horrible piece of trash. The sliding mechanism sticks constantly and will annoy you immediately upon using it. The wrench is very thick and not that balanced. The adjustable jaw doesn't stay in place when tightening a nut. This has got to be the largest piece of garbage straight out of China that I have ever bought. Crescent should be ashamed to have their name on this useless hunk of wasted metal. I will never never buy another Crescent brand tool again. Please do yourself a favor and buy a traditional adjustable wrench.

Wonderful, and a great price. I love the new slide feature that Crescent has built into their new adjustable wrench. I have incorporated these wrenches in to all the workstations in my production facility. A must to have.
