Team: Getting Things Done with Others

The GTD accompaniment we’ve been waiting for (and needing!)
This is a brilliant book which - finally! - expands and codifies the “Getting Things Done: Stress-Free Productivity” methodology from the individual to the team level. Hitherto, applying GTD to teams and enterprises has only been possible via analogy and / or extrapolation, but now we have the definitive manual for how to map David Allen’s revolutionary insights onto the next level of collaboration! The insights here are solidly practical. They will form the basis for important conversations and processes with your teams and colleagues. This is further proof of the need to invest in critical conversations and decisions on the front end: about how WE (as opposed to merely I) get things done around here!If you want an effective and universally applicable model and basis for how to get your team off to a good start, then your next action is to buy this book (then study it thoroughly)!

A much needed and well researched book for managing any Team in 21st century
David and Ed have clearly taken a lot of time not to duplicate existing resources out there and provide a really timely and valuable book.Easy to digest and full of practical, implementable ideas. Also, written in a way that you don't need to have read Getting Things Done to understand it.

Worth waiting for
I recently read the book and had the opportunity to hear the authors speak at an event to celebrate the launch. As a GTDer since 2004, I eagerly anticipated this very timely release of not only the next in the GTD (Getting Things Done) canon of books but also a book themed on the challenge of working with GTD inside of Teams and not just as an individual.Lamont and Allen didn't disappoint, delivering a book that stays remarkably true to the core and fundamentals of GTD, while addressing how to deliver healthy, high performance as a team. Its written in a way that you can dip in and out of it and it does a wonderful job of explaining GTD, even for those with no background in the original books and methodology.Sections on Working Standards, Roles and Saying No, were real standouts for me. Overall it's a wonderfully well written and thought provoking title, that avoids the management and leadership speak and jargon of many more "academic" books."Team" is a brilliant adddition to the GTD book series and highly recommended for anyone who wants to understand how to improve their teams and individual performance in the new world.

Excellent book on how to get Teams to work effectively
This is an excellent book. Well worth reading through right till the end. It contains lots of material that will appeal to fans of GTD, but also contains a wealth of standalone material. Hence is well worth reading for both GTD fans and everyone else. Excellent book

One of the best business books I've read this year
Great insights into how to use the Get Things Done framework within a team - particularly as teams are getting more fluid with more outside consultants/companies being part of projects these days. An enjoyable and actionable read.

Good
Big fan of GTD and practitioner for more than a decade now. . Expected few more specific tools for implementing GTD in teams. But looks it's a repetition of GTD.

Crisp and relevant
Five check marks on the cover perfectly summarize this book. The classic "GTD check mark" is now joined by four others, symbolizing the expanded scope of teamwork.True to its roots, "Team" remains tool and methodology agnostic, applicable to teams of any size and individuals at any level. It's a must-read for anyone working with others. The writing style echoes the new edition of GTD: crisp and timeless, focusing on universal principles over anecdotes. While some passages may feel verbose, they're filled with wisdom from experienced consultants. Even better, this book strengthens your own GTD practice.
