Tokyo Ghoul - The Movie [Blu-ray]

Don't Hesitate, Buy It!!!
I finally watched the anime months ago, and instantly obsessed in binge watching the entire series. Was a damn good weekend spent. That said, I came across this movie, and like the majority of any fan of any anime, was immediately skeptical. Not a very promising genre...But, obviously I took the risk and bought it. And I have zero regrets. This is probably the best live action adaptation of an anime I've seen yet.Obviously, as with virtually any anime, there is NO way to cram every character backstory/progression in a single movie. Season 1 was like what, 24 episodes? You cant expect that kind of content to be crammed into a 90 or 120 minute movie. That's completely ignorant and unrealistic. The dubbed version, I'm going to say they cut and pasted from the anime. Not newly recorded material. Still, the sound of familiar voices, and overall job was good for me personally. The movie covers the 1st season, but without the Jason encounter at the finale. Still, despite this, you are still taken through the majority of the story, which was done well.Overall, I'm still extremely impressed with this movie. I was sad only at the he fact that it had ended, but when I learned the sequel was set to come out back in July of 2019, I was, and still am hyped. You'll never be able to truly capture the entire core of an anime/Manga in a movie, but this attempt, was the best I've witnessed to date.If I had to recommend avoid anything, I'd recommend Attack on Titan. Cause holy hell, that was a complete disgrace to the source material...Tokyo Ghoul on the other hand, don't hesitate, buy it. You'll be left wanting more, in a good way.

Really impressed
The first movie is really great. It has the real feel of the anime and the actors don't seem over the top in the acting which could of happened considering the story. However, there are some reviews here that are confusing, I thought it was the only movie because there is talk about the Jason fight. This is not the whole first season it ends with the fight with Amon and Kaneki and Touka and Mado…I thought the characters we're true to the writer's view and even looked like what you would hope them to look like in the Anime/Manga. Really well done and worth watching.Still it's so good it left us wanting more, so looking around I realized there's a part two and discovered that the second movie is wrapped around the Gourmet and ends with the battle to save Kimee. I hope they are making another movie so they will complete the series but haven't seen it yet.

The Best Anime to Live-Action Adaptation I’ve Seen
Much like video game movies, good anime to live-action adaptations seem to be cursed to fail. Looking back, the only adaptation to have positive reception was the Death Note Japanese films... until now. Tokyo Ghoul is a film that not only catches the intense emotion and heartfelt themes of the manga/anime, but does it in a way that makes sure you won’t lose focus. Best watched with the original Japanese dub, this film covers the first two arcs of the anime/manga- the Nishiki arc and Mado Sr. arc. The actors’ performances are top tier, bringing in an authentic experience that will make you laugh, get hyped, and cry. This movie is simply a must have for Tokyo Ghoul fans, anime fans, or anyone who just wants a good movie.

Good live-action adaptation of a great anime.
Awesome Japanese style action and drama, may be lacking in story elements, if you watch the anime. For a live action adaptation it is very satisfying and the Bluray has top notch video and sound quality.

Loved the dubbed
The best part is the voices for the dubbed anime are the same for the movie. If you haven’t seen the movie, it’s good but a little slow. It doesn’t end at the best fight scene with Jason sadly. If you’re a fan of the manga and anime you’ll love it seeing it in live action. It ends at an ok spot. I wanted more.

Spectacular
As a fan of the anime I got to say this version of it live is by far the best I seen. Really close to the manga and has its horror parts.
