Very informative book
Bought this book for my friend’s birthday. She’s a skin therapy specialist so she loves having these kind of books to read. Great read for anybody who wants to know more about skin and what goes into having a great skin overall. Easy read too.

IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMATIC SKIN YOU NEED THIS BOOK.
I WISH THIS BOOK WAS OUT WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER!!As a dietitian I’ve always valued evidence-based practice however until I met Anjali and read her work (including this book) I didn’t think to apply it to my skin care!I’ve always had the odd spot growing up but last year broke out with terrible acne on my cheeks; after speaking to Anjali and acquiring the knowledge in this book my skin has now never looked as good; I’m COMPLETELY acne free & my skin actually has a glow to it (I’m almost 32!). Who new it was all down to the products that I was/wasn’t using on my skin.. it wasn’t down to my diet or stress (for me anyway).I bought this book not only for myself but for my sister too as I think she will benefit massively from it; I love how Anjali breaks down complicated topics into simple, easy to read pieces of information and I WILL NOT be buying any more skin care unless I’ve read up on it first.I love this book as there is something for everyone; from acne to anti-aging (I need both of those!) to stretch marks, SPF & rosacea too.You need this book in your life to save money & heartache.. I for one know how much upset my bad skin has brought me in the past.Thank you Anjali SO much (and the Penguin girls) for writing this book. It’s just what we needed.

A great book for demystifying skin care
The Skincare Bible is an excellent book that explains and provides solutions for almost every common skin concern thoroughly and with care. The first chapter covers the science of skin, what it is made up of and what it does, before moving on to tackle skin care regimens and the products one should definitely use or avoid for each skin concern, including acne, rosacea, scarring, dryness, sensitivity and many more. The book is written in a slightly conversational style, so it is not a dull read.My only criticism would be the lack of an index or a separate ingredient list as a one-stop shop for deciding which products are likely to be suitable for you. As it is, you really need to read the book in its entirety to learn what you are likely to require.I have learned a lot though, and would recommend this book to anyone who is experiencing information overload in the media when it comes to skincare.

Wish this book was written years ago!
I'm 32 and probably own about 25 face masks , 12 cleansers , scrubs , oils , serums, you name it then I'll have 10 of each. I'm obsessed with skincare and the latest beauty products , anything to make my face look younger and fresher and to get rid of acne and pigmentation. I have read a lot of books about what to eat to feed your face and neals yard beauty books .However this book is BY FAR THE BEST and it's going to save me a lot of money in the future . I read this book in one day learning about different skin concerns, acne, dark circles, cellulite, stretch marks, roseaca, pregnancy, hormones. It is written so well that you don't have to be a scientist to understand the language, she goes through what ingredients to look for when buying products and the fact that a cheaper cream will have the exact same as a £100 pot and that face masks only work for that initial evening , they don't penetrate deep enough in the skin cells to make a lasting effect.Every person should buy this, it's an eye opener and could save you hundreds !

Wish this book came out years ago!
Really helpful book, wish it was around when I was a teenager battling acne! I continue to struggle with adult acne and my main issue now is scarring. I feel like over the years I've believed anything I've read that helps acne and scars and never had a proper skin care routine, just putting anything on my face hoping it would work. I now follow the routine recommended in the book including using retinol which I had not heard of until finding this book. Although I will forever get breakouts, my skin is much better now I have more of a routine and know what is best for acne prone skin. This book is honest and I no longer believe everything I see online about 'acne cures' thanks to this book.

Good but value for money?
I found this book interesting but a little disappointing and I'm left feeling as though it was a little overpriced. Whilst it does provide advice backed up by clear and easy to understand explanations I was hoping for more specific information about skincare routines at different ages. There is a large section on Acne and other skincare issues which may be useful if required. I will look out for some of the ingredients listed but feel that it will be a long task finding the right products. Other than that the information is generally common sense with lots of importance placed on sunscreen which I was already aware of.

Best skincare guide by a real expert
I have really enjoyed this book. I spend a lot of time myself looking into skincare and this is a comprehensive guide for anyone wanting a real understanding about how to get your skin looking as good as it can and looking after it in the long term. Finding the right skin care can be extremely difficult. The author seems to have a real expertise in her field by being a consultant dermatologist but also knows how to communicate it to the non expert in a way thats easy to follow. There are many great myth busting tips which will both save money and time. Cannot recommend this highly enough!!

Would definitely recommend
Absolutely love this book! I’ve been following Dr Anjali Mahto for a while on instagram and loved the documentary she featured in about the truth of skin care. I Iove how her wealth of knowledge is made accessible and easy to read. Her breakdown of information is clear and concise, and her personal experience of problematic skin is a refreshing and honest read. I suffer with adult acne at nearly 37 and feel she really understands the anxiety and mental health aspects it can cause offering practical and affordable solutions, important for those of us on a budget but desperate for advice! I loved this book and read it within a day.
