Great Photo Camera for the Price
Great camera at a good price. I do inspection so this does not see water but, because of this it is somewhat intrinsically safe. It is hard to find cameras with these specs for this price. It has a macro setting and provides enough pixels for my report pictures. There used to be a lot of cameras in this price range with similar specs but now they are at least $200 more and this one takes a good picture with macro and has good memory capacity. Don't use it for video, so I can not comment on that aspect, but am almost sure that is why it is cheaper.

Perfect camera for a reckless family
Great camera for parents of young, destructive kids. This thing can really take a beating, that's for sure. Our family has certainly put it through the ringer. I kind of wish the auto settings were a little better. For sure, if you want to get the best picture quality with this camera you'll want to take the time to learn how to manually mess with your apature, shutter speeds and what not - but that's typical of all point and click style cameras. The battery life on this thing is great, I've only ever had to charge it twice since I got it and that's with consistant use. In March we'll have officially had this thing for a year, just for some added perspective. I'll go ahead and say this, back when we bought this it was about $288, and I'd say that it was worth the cost for me but seeing what they charge for it now at over $300, I think that's a little steep when most people could probably use an old smartphone and have an easier time with automatic camera settings that don't need manual adjusting. As a camera person, this isn't a big deal for me but if you're new to photography and cameras, it could be a steep learning curve - not as bad as an SLR but it's still worth considering if that's something you want to deal with or not. TL;DR - All in all, great camera. Fits our family's needs, in that it's got an insanely long battery life, is durable and takes good photos. For best photographic quality, take the time to learn the manual settings.

The Pentax WG series are very good cameras.
I am giving this camera a 5 simply because I'm basin it on the Pentax WG III. Just recently I dropped the WG III camera into a pool and took a couple of pictures under water. The camera Pentax WG III, I had purchased this camera back in 2014 in Germany just to try it out. I have been very very happy with this camera. I dropped the camera several times showing my friends how great it is. I did this too many times and then dropped it into a pool before it got damaged 11 years later. At first I replaced the camera with a Pentax WG 90 (which I love so far) and the I purchased replacement batteries (turns out that what is the issue is on the WG III). If you don't want to have the issue with messing up your camera, I suggest you get a seal replacement kit every 6 years. These cameras are well worth their money. The seller was quick to send it and arrived very fast and intact.

Tough little camera. But not sharp like a DSLR.
Not extremely sharp, but highly versatile. I've had several versions of this camera over the years (roughly 20 years). It's a tough camera. You can get shots with it that you can't get any other way, which is why I keep buying it. OK. About focus: It uses a zone focus system. You put a subject in its zone, and it focuses on it. You don't get really sharp photos this way, but they are sellable. And the close focus on this camera is hard to beat. It's a small camera that you can carry anywhere, but it's not unbreakable. I know this because I have had and broken several of these over the years.

Get one now!
This is such a great camera to just have on hand at all times. Takes excellent photos. Especially macro photos and it’s great to use underwater as well. Highly recommend. Waterproof, highly functional, great battery life and easy to use.

Fails at the stated purpose of an underwater camera
Terrible for its advertised usage. Underwater it over exposes by 1.5 stops with it suddenly jumping 2.5 stops randomly. Underwater mode locks out exposure compensation and does not correct for loss of red and every photo has an exaggerated blue cast. Lack of RAW mode makes it impossible to ignore these issues. Only a P mode which made terrible decisions for aperture vs shutter speed. One star because it works okay as a point and shoot out of the water, but your modern cell phone will do better. One star because the seals seem to be decent. Too bad the photos were terrible.

Good buy
Works great, takes amazing pictures. Definitely would buy again if ever need. Never tried it underwater, but it works in the drizzle we had.

Definitely out dated.
Tried it out and found the viewing screen was just to small and everything looked blurry. It might be fun for the kids but it's very over priced for that. Just not what I had hoped.

I'm a building inspector so I'm pretty hard on my cameras. I need a tough camera that's up to the task for professional daily field use. I used to have the Olympus TG-6. The selector wheel broke off when it fell about 3 feet onto the ground (so much for the drop test rating). Also didn't like the small recessed buttons, difficult to use while wearing hand protection. This one is so much better than the Olympus. If you're looking for a tough camera for field work, you're much better off with this one, it seems to be designed with us in mind. Trust me, 27 years as a full-time building inspector, I've been through many dozens of cameras, and this one has to be the best one for general field use. When I need high zoom, I switch to my Panasonic Lumix FZ80.

I believe this is a great little camera. However, I bought it in the summer to take with me abroad and give as a Christmas present. Unfortunately I did not look inside. There was no battery in the box with the camera and other gear . The camera could not used until a battery was ordered. Thus was very disappointing as we were away and wanted to use the camera at Christmas.
