Disappointment, Doubt and Other Spiritual Gifts

This is an American writer, the examples and insights are in that tradition of Christian writing. Some interesting, if alarming, illustrations and simple exercises to 'put into practice' the 'teaching' in the previous chapter. I very much wanted to benefit from the book but wasn't enamoured. The fact is that life's traumas persist and it is a brave / deluded? person who can eventually speak of life's misery becoming a gift. Life is hard and very complex. I read it in a day and forgot it almost immediately.

I am a fan of mark and his writing and this book is honest and challenging on faith and life. It is easy to read in style with some exercises to get you thinking. Worth a read
