Palram Canopia Greenhouse Accessory Automatic Vent Opener

I bought the auto vent for my Palram Mythos greenhouse. It works like a dream. No more getting up early to open the greenhouse window or remembering to close it at night. It is fiddly to install as 2 of the bolts supplied do not fit. I had to use a couple of spare bolts from the greenhouse to complete the installation. The package was damaged by the courier and the fittings had fallen out. Palram customer services are exceptionally helpful and sent by next day delivery the missing fittings. The important point in fitting is to place the vent in the fridge for 30 mins prior to installation. As I had to hunt for a couple of spare bolts I put it in the fridge again as the vent was already starting to open. However once I located the bolts it does not take long to fit. I've attached a few photos where you can see it open, then start to close and finally closed in the evening. The auto vent does not open as fully as the manual opener, and it has been hot recently. It has not opened beyond what you can see in the image. I have tried moving the top screw which holds the cylinder to see if it will open more fully. It has not yet opened fully. I think that the instructions could be more helpful on this, hence 4 stars rather than 5.

A little bit fiddly to fit but once it was on it worked a treat.

I hate anything manual and had to hope this fitted a Rion Greenhouse. Its the same item as what I took off, and I did use the previous screws to re attach the new opener. Works as previous, just pleased works on Rion.

Great piece of kit... Easily fitted to my Palram harmony 6x4!!! Includes 2 sets of instructions... A simple straightforward set for palram greenhouses and one for a 'snap and grow' type (where self tapping screws may be required, which are also supplied)It literally comes out of the box, needs two brackets popping together and just fits in place of your old manual vent fixing in exactly the same manner. Some reviews were a little off-putting but i fear they may have read the wrong set of instructions?!? It really is simple.... Takes 20 minutes max. Tensioned adjuster up fully and window is fully closed when greenhouse is at 18 degrees. Opens rapidly above this. Using mainly for when away on holidays but it's so easy to interchange with original lever that I'll probably leave it there until high winds/winter are next due. Love it! My only negative... Delivery took a week... A long time for a prime item if youre a prime member, but it does warn of this so it'd be unfair to knock stars off. Highly Recommend to those with Palram greenhouses.

This is a replacement for one I have had for 4 years which unfortunately decided to stop working this year. Came before due date so really happy about that.

Fairly easy to fit. But once fitted it's great. Don't have to worry about opening/closing the window every day
