I tried another one first because this looked too shallow to cover food without crushing it. Was I wrong! I returned the first one (glass and silicone) which I don't think was even glass. While it looks too shallow, it works very well. It is great quality and definitely heavy, tempered glass. There is plenty of room for food. I see now that they have a taller version of this which I might have purchased if I saw it. But, that one says it is unavailable. Don't waste your time with other products, get Mikro Innovations.

This is a great useful product. The large handle makes it easy and safe to use. I am very happy with the glass top as I don't want micro plastics in my food. It fits perfectly over my dinner plates and I also use it with small plates and bowls as well. The glass is heavy and durable and easy to clean. The steam release hole is great for heating high liquid foods such as soup and veggies.I highly recommend this product.

I'm glad I purchased this. I feel much better using glass than plastic when re-warming food in the microwave. So far its holding up well I've had it for a few months and it endured a move to the other side of the city. It washes well and still looks new with regular use!

Wish it was a little taller and had another vent hole or two but overall I love it. This cover is well made and should last for some time. I wish it was a little taller but it actually works with most everything I have used it for. It really needs another vent hole or two because it can cause my oatmeal to boil over because the steam/or heat cannot escape as well as it needs to. I purchased the one with the orange knob. My appliances are mainly stainless steel with a few black accents so I thought I should probably go with the black knob but just loved the pop of color the orange knob gives so went with the orange instead. I'm so glad I did. Every time I open the microwave it make me happy :) Quality product. I would have given it five stars had it been slightly taller with at least one other vent hole. I would repurchase.

I always feel uncomfortable heating plastic in the microwave. This glass cover does the job perfectly.The knob doesn’t heat up, the glass is easy to clean and covers most items, unless you’re heating a large plate with food at the edges. The venting hole works well too, reducing condensation to a negligible amount.Cleaning it is a breeze. It may feel a bit heavy at first but I quickly got used to it, and the heft reminds me that it’s glass.

This is a great addition to your microwave. It keeps the inside of your microwave clean while cooking your food. The vent in the top allows some steam to escape. Your food is not dried out but not soggy, either. The silicone around the edge gives it added protection; the handle is nice and sturdy and large enough for someone with a bigger hand, but not too large for those with smaller hands. Clean up is easy in the dishwasher. A must have for everyone who has a microwave!

It works great to cover food in the microwave instead of using a paper towel... plastic is not an option because it could potentially leak chemicals into the food. It would be nice if it were a little bigger, but it still works even when it does not fit perfectly over my plate of food. It should be rinsed after each use or it could have lingering odors from prior use, but it washes easily. I am glad that I paid attention and bought a cover that was tempered glass. Complaints about glass covers shattering were all non tempered glass.

Buyer beware! I have been using this lid for about 9 months and had no complaints (I bought it because I started questioning putting a plastic lid in the microwave together with my food, no matter how many claims that it’s safe). Then suddenly, this thing literally exploded out of the blue as it was sitting on our dish drying pad. Yes, while sitting on the dryer pad!!! My husband was grabbing my daughter’s sippy cup from the pad and the small plastic cup lid fell onto this glass microwave lid from about 6” above and the glass microwave lid jumped a good 3” as it exploded into countless little pieces!!!!!!! How does this even happen?!?!?!? I saw the whole thing happen while I was sitting on the couch as I told my husband where to find the cup parts. The pieces continued to crackle for a good 5 minutes as they lay there. I am now very concerned about the safety of using this product with food - what else was melted into this glass to make it behave so strangely? I’m soooo glad my daughter was not standing right at my husband’s feet when this happened. I very rarely leave reviews and I hate having to leave a bad one, but I’ve never seen glass behave like this (I’ve had my fair experience with tempered glass breaking, even a large skylight window with record breaking heat) and want to make buyers aware of a potential safety concern.

Lo uso en el microondas y me ayuda a calentar y cocinar mejor los alimentos. Me gusta mucho su material aunque me resulta un poco pesado. Muy higiénico que es lo que yo buscaba. Muy bueno

Ich habe mittlerweile mehrere Kunststoffdeckel in meinem Microwellenherd wegwerfen müssen.Dieser Deckel ist das Geld auf alle Fälle wert.

…when I thought it was possibly an unnecessary buy but went ahead due to my reluctance to use plastic/silicon in the microwave. It’s well made and I use it much more than expected eg on my enamel casserole on the stove top.

Was worried about quality after reading some of the reviews. I have been using the cover for over a year now.It's very well made, no problems.
