Nice design, may not work on all dogs.
My dog is completely insensitive to the stimulus. (She is s 9-month-old mini sheepadoodle with traces of some crazy alien terrier breed, or "wack-a-doodle" as I call her.)I have the collar properly adjusted, and I know she feels it, as she does react, but she just doesn't care. It's probably not the collar itself, but my dog. She feels it, but she just accepts it, no matter how high the strength. The beep signal seems best, because it gets her attention -- for about one second -- and I can give her an order then. But if she doesn't feel like following the order, she doesn't. She's a smart dog and is easily trained, but also willful and self-serving. I bought the collar to aid me in training her not to bite in play. Also not to chase rabbits. It could be that biting and rabbit chasing are just too much a part of her whole personality. Anyway, the collar is ineffective on her.On the good side, it is a nice design. The receiver is small and not clunky. The remote is small and palm-able, and is simple and extremely easy to use. The collar is a clip-on style, which makes it easy to put on and take off. Though my dog doesn't care, the stimulus is pretty strong. I tested it on myself first (but I still misbehave); I thought that was fair, and I recommend anyone who uses such a device on their dog, to first test it on yourself. Yes, this collar is well-made, strong and durable. The price is very fair, and delivery was within a week of ordering. It seems to do everything it's supposed to do -- just not on my Mooney.)

Forget training your dog in Morse Code.
UPDATE: Item died after six months of light use. Do not recommend. This item is advertised as having light, sound, vibration, and shock. The light may be effective for locating an animal, but do not expect to use it as a training aid. If the button on the remote acted as a momentary switch, where light pulses could be sent quickly in a pattern, then it might have been useful. As a latching on/off switch, it is too slow and cumbersome for anything other than identifying your pet in the dark. The sound training aid has a two-beep pattern with no adjustment for sound. It is loud enough for the dog to hear. Again, if the button had been set as a momentary contact switch, beeps of different patterns could have been used to elicit specific responses. As a simple means of getting the dog to perform a single action when pressed, it is effective. There is no feedback on the remote when the vibration button is pressed, you have to look at the animal to see if there is a response. The vibration adjustment simply changes the frequency of the vibration, not the strength. On a low setting, the vibration is slower than when on a higher setting. The vibration produces a strong response in the animal. The "shock" aid was tested at a very low setting on the arm of the trainer and found to be of no additional value over the vibration aid. If the training aids had been implemented in a more flexible fashion it would have been an excellent tool for sending a range of non-verbal commands to the dog. As it stands, it is an adequate tool capable of only eliciting basic responses from the animal. There were a number of dropouts at indoor distances, so I am guessing that the advertised range occurs only under the most optimal conditions. The collar is well made and the receiver's coated contacts are well tolerated by a small dog. The remote's screen is easy to read. Charging occurred quickly. It took about 5 minutes for the puppy to understand that a two-beep pattern meant that he should move from where he was to sitting at the trainer's feet (with the treat). The vibration aid easily interrupted even the most focused action (digging, hunting for insects, jumping, barking, etc.) Overall, I am pleased with the product and its performance compared to other products in the marketplace at a similar price point.

Great Product, vibrate works way better than needing to shock
I have a 18 month old Italian mix Mastiff and at 120 lbs he can be a hand full at times. 90% of the times he is great but in the evening time we were having trouble with him getting wound up and going after my pant legs or shoes or my wife's but mostly mine while we are doing nothing but sitting on the couch watching tv. if we tried to stop him he would get more aggressive and has destroyed several pairs of pants and shirts by refusing to let go. we had blood work done, and went to trainers. we spent a lot of money on this issue. even tried calming medications. because when you get him off of you and hold him down he would howl and throw a fit like a child. my wife was crying all the time because her dog she loved so much was having some kind of behavior problem. I have never had to use the shock part of the collar on him. The vibrate is enough of a sensation to draw his attention to what i need him to do. after only one week his is a completely new dog. almost polite you could say. I only needed to use it a couple of times on vibrate the first few days and now just a reminder beep once in a while. I have even got him to quit chasing the cats and we can even take walks without a leash in our neighborhood, but it may be different for other dogs. He was so stubborn and wouldn't listen to commands but now he is great and because of this product I feel that you guys have saved my household and restored peace in it. And some people complain about having to push the button twice, that is a great feature because if you have the remote in your pocket or on your belt you dont want to accidentally shock the daylights out of you animal without knowing it, It does have a really long range...Thank you so much...Big dog owner Gene
