Life saver in the Panamanian jungle 🫡

This stuff has a separate cap that you can use to transport it. Liquid won't leak out of the spray device in air transport! Bottle is perfect size for travel. It's super-strong and it lasted all day (and all night) while I was trekking though dense Costa Rican jungle (both day and nighttime, it didn't fail me once). Strong enough that one bottle lasted me two weeks, applying every day, twice a day. I didn't get bit once. The smell is not as strong as you might expect, given how effective it is, but there is still a 'bug spray' odor, thus I gave it 4 stars for not being perfect. Warning - don't get it near your mouth (as I did) or you'll have numb lips and be tasting it for hours! (My fault, in application error - not a fault of the product).

I don't really leave reviews, but I HAD to for this amazing deet spray! I got it because of reviews stating they traveled to different countries and it worked well. Well...IT DID. I went on vacation to Tulum, Mexico and because the city is in the jungle, there are mosquitoes literally everywhere! We walked to most of our destinations and I would spray 4 sprits on each limb, 2 on one side and 2 on the back side and then I'd rub it on like lotion. That is the trick. Do not spray and leave it there or else it will just be like an untouched oily spot. It does have an odd oily consistency when sprayed on, so I suggest to spray all areas first and then rub them in or else you have to try to hold the bottle with oily hands and that makes it hard to continue spraying. But oh my gosh, let me tell you that I get extremely bad reactions to bug bites. They puff up to x4 if not more than its original size and hurt so bad that it feels raw even when the wind blows on it. The mosquitoes didn't dare to land on me and landed on my friends instead, lol. They didn't even want to walk near me because I'm a mosquito magnet and they'd ricochet onto them once they realized my tasty skin isn't actually so tasty with deet spray, haha! I had sprayed this on for a walk and it worked great, but I had to rinse myself off due to preserving cenotes, and that literally was when I started getting bit! Because I had to wash it off! This is a life saver! I'd be completely covered in bites and miserable if it weren't for this spray. It does leave a nasty taste on your hands if you're the nail biter or licking your fingers while eating type, so I'd wash your hands after applying. I also sprayed some on my hand to rub it on my back I stead of spraying it directly because it's harder to spray yourself with the possibility of missing, and also I accidentally inhaled it when spraying my neck and chest--so spraying it on your hand and rubbing on the desired area also works. I'm buying more of this in the double 4oz size pack to keep at home since there's also plenty of mosquitoes where I live in the states. Whoever made this product, THANK YOU. I can't stress out how amazing this really worked! I am one ecstatic customer!No regrets : D

Bring it with you when you travel. You never know when you will show up in the middle of bug feast. We went to Africa and I was so glad to have this with me. I'll never know if I would have gotten malaria because you can't measure prevention. But I do know I had peace of mind using the best and strongest deterrent available.

In June of 2022 I hiked the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, after which I traveled around the country for 10 days, including deep into the Peruvian Amazon rainforest to explore the jungle from a treehouse. I ordered two bottles of this stuff (one for me, one for my husband) and I have to say it worked quite well! That being said, when it arrived, it was a hot mess. The lids of both bottles were ill fitting and not sealed at all, so the liquid had leaked EVERYWHERE! It made a huge mess and a was a big pain in the butt to clean up. However, once I transferred the liquid into my own travel spray bottles, the bug spray itself was really top notch! Some of my travel companions bought the jungle juice from REI and we did everything together. We got bit way less than they did. Did we still get bitten? Yes. That's just part of the fun of the Peruvian jungle, but it was only a handful of bites total for the whole trip, which is pretty good considering where we were!I can definitely recommend this stuff as a product, but I can't recommend the packaging unfortunately. You might be rolling the dice with what you get in terms of the actual bottles they come in, but the liquid works!I sincerely hope this review has been helpful to someone else. I got the package left at my door and something must of been in it before hand or something because it was leaking everywhere. Inside the bag was all wet/oily and so was the two bottles. But when i cleaned everything off the spray inside the bottles was clear but the spilled liquid in the bag was like redish so not really sure what it was. But other than that it worked great! Took it on a 3 day backpacking trip on the Pacific Crest Trail and didn't get a single bug bite. As one who is prone to getting a ton of bug bites no matter what I was very happy with this purchase.
