Awesome Product
I generally don’t write reviews. I purchased this in November of 2022 and I installed it right away. It was extremely easy to put in. Much brighter than I expected. I put it on my garage near the roofline approximately 15 feet from the ground. Highly recommended to purchase and use.

2.5 years+ ownership 40/45W LED…Excellent light…Recommend!
I regret not posting this review earlier…Original light was a Bobcat 40W LED (Model: BL-AL-40W-A) advertised to replace a 300W incandescent/100W HID equivalent. It was 4600 lumens at 5000K. It replaced an oversized electricity sucking 175W sodium light. The LED was brighter and illuminated the same area adequately. The LED Bobcat had a much whiter light. I don’t mind the yellowish tint of the sodium light, but I prefer the brighter whiter LED. It weathered cold winters, hot humid summers, and high winds and rain without issue. I found the auto on-off feature to work appropriately based on ambient light; just be mindful of mounting location and reflective LED light that could affect the sensor. The light worked without issue from October 2017 to March 2020 (2.5 years) when the telephone pole it was mounted to was taken down in a high wind storm. The pole was over twenty years old and rotting at the base. The light was destroyed on impact; no fault of the manufacturer. I was very happy with this light, so I chose to install another Bobcat. I built a new metal take-down pole system that’ll last a few centuries (and tornados) and mounted a new Bobcat light on it 18ft up off ground. They don’t make the 40W version anymore, but no problem. The wattage has increased, but you are still getting better illumination at 25% the operating cost and 3-5 times the lifecycle of incandescent.New light is a Bobcat 45W LED (Model: BL-AL-45W-50K) advertised to replace a 400W incandescent/130W HID. It is 5300 lumens at 5000K and noticeably brighter than my previous 40W LED Bobcat. Additionally, this model has a narrower (shorter) form factor which is nice. Small surface area means less friction in high winds, and less stress on your mount, pole, and or structure. The new light is working great…Note: night picture reflects zero moonlight and no other cultural lighting. Area illumination is awesome.

Very good quality and value.
They are a great deal for outside barn lights and area light at an old oil well. Wiring is simple and easy to do. I used 1 1/2 inch pvc with a 90 degree at the top then use conduit anchors to put them up 15 ft off the ground. We’ll see how well they handle the winter in January .

Purchased in March 2019
The light is bright and dusk to Dawn feature is great. But now it has stopped working just past three years, and like a few other reviewers Bob Cat wants me to pay shipping and didn’t give me a option for the internal photo cell that would be the right replacement. Then what if it is the LED light that quit working. Many trips up the ladder to fix as well as down time while waiting on parts. Maybe better off to just go purchase a new area light.

Excellent low power light for work areas (30 watt)
Installed a 30w one over our chopsaw area for shipping materials at my place of work. Previously we would have to work by flashlight because there was no light fixture there previously and we have been working later and later. As you can see its basically night and day. The camera makes it look a little dim from farther away but right underneath it is very bright, much safer to work at night now. Mounted at about 10' to one of the beams under the canopy. Only downside for our application was that the photocell is not easy to disable without cutting wires, internal connections are made with closed end connectors (Those white crimp caps you find in appliances these days) which are perfectly fine, but permanent. Solved this issue by painting over the clear plastic lens on the photocell so it would always turn on when another centrally located photocell turned all our lights on, otherwise it might flicker on and off from reflecting light off of the metal canopy above it. [The other light you can see in the upper corner is a half cutoff wall pack illuminating from the front of the canopy towards the camera.]
