Does exactly what I wanted!
I have an oak toilet seat which is still solid, but the hinges have broken twice. The last time, I cheaped out and installed some crummy plastic ones, which made for a bad fit (the toilet seat hung out too far past the front of the bowl) and got progressively more wiggly over time. This time, I wanted the chrome to match our other fixtures, and a more-compact design to the hinge so that the seat would fit the bowl better. This accomplished both in one stroke. The reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the plastic nuts which hold the hinges from underneath are poor quality. They are too soft, and as soon as they got close to tightening up (by hand), they both stripped. I wound up having to go to the hardware store for some stainless steel metric flange nuts, in order to finish the job. Also, after tightening everything properly, the smooth chrome circles you started with are dimpled downward in the center, like you see in my picture... giving me the impression that the metal may crack, in the future. Will update as necessary...

Hinge is a little too short to center my toilet seat
Works fine and well made. Only problem is length of hinges. They could be at least 1/2 inch longer. My toilet seat works fine but is now back about 3/4 inch from front edge of toilet. Not a real problem but still...

These deserve 1K Stars
The hinges on one of our bamboo seats broke...from standing on it while replacing the window. I am buying 2 more sets and replacing the cheap brass looking ones that have started to get all cruddy. For the person who complainef that they are not universal, you really don't have an understanding what universal means. If this were not universal, you would not have been able to use them on your toilet seat. Universal does not mean that it fits directly with everything. Universal fit means that with little adjustment or work it can fit just about with any toilet seat.I was able To use one of the screw holes in the toilet seat from the old hinge and had to drill 2 new holes for the lid. I then filled the old holes up with wood putty. In my case it worked out all right since the wood filler was the same color as my bamboo toilet seat. With any other color toilet seat, all you have to do is get a felt pen that is the same color as your toilet seat and color over the wood putty. I did have to take everything apart again because I couldn't figure out why the lid wouldn't close. But that is my faults because I reversed the hinges when I installed them the 1st time. I would recommend that you use your own sturdier screws because the ones that come with these hinges Don't hold up very well if you are using an impact or other power tool. I also recommend drilling pilot holex

Tolerance
The tolerance is too big which makes it harder to align to exiting holes as a replacement. But it’s great for new install. Thanks!

Screws are not stainless steel
Description clearly says "a bag (of) small stainless steel screws". There is a simple way to tell if a screw is stainless steel: if it's attracted to a magnet it is NOT stainlessl. The screws I received are mild steel. The packet that the screws came in had been torn open by a prior purchaser who apparently knew the same test. It's a small thing, but mild steel does not belong on a toilet and I dislike false advertising. Back it goes.

Didn't work for me.
If the picture is perfection... what I got is about 60% of that. They are in general what they claim to be, but no where near the quality depicted in the photo. For me, the bigger issue is that even with the hinges oriented in the 'most forward' position they could be set to, the seat was still too far back to be able to stay 'upward' when lifted.I ended up having to buy a new seat that had its own hinges.

Good Solid Hardware
Solid high quality seat hardware. Be sure to check your seat fit and orientation. They can be mounted with different offsets. I recommend you dry-fit first. It will save you having to disassemble and re-do, like I did. The screw-in stem could be a little more beefy but it works. You might wish to use some loc-tite or similar for your final assembly. That should help reduce a tendency to loosen-up. There are no instructions just do your dry-fit carefully. You'll be fine. Good Luck.
