Preaching for the choir
If you believe that when Jesus said : "I and my Father are one" he was actually speaking abot Maharajii (Neem Karoli Baba) then this book is for you. Similar if you can belive that because Steve Jobs in his youth stayed a short while at Neem Karoli's Indian ashram all the succes of Apple is actually due to Maharajii's grace.I have read some over the top hagiographies of masters like Adi Da Samraj and Satya Sai Baba but this one certainly takes the prize. There seems to be absolute no limit to the miracles and wonders of Maharajii. Commanding the weather, making himself and his companions invisible, being able to be two (or more) places at the same time. And walking around in the streets of New York several years after his death.Behind all that seems to be a beautiful and rather orthodox Hindu guru who - like Ramakrishna in the 19th century - taught that chanting the names of the Lord(s) is the best way to salvation. Which ofc explains that some of his most prominent followers - aside from the illustrious Ram Dass - are the well known mantra and kirtan artists Krishna Das and Jai Uttal. The book gives some insight to the activities of Karoli's devotees both in the West and India and their adherence to rather strict and again orthodox Hinduism. Which makes it hard to see him as the modern day world saviour like Ransom portraits him.No doubt the book is written with much love but if you want some actual information about the remarkable Neem Karoli maybe this is NOT the best place to start.

Great Maharaji Book
I don’t have much specificity to add to the tagline. This book cleared a lot of doubts for me. It is written conversationally, and some of the English is ungrammatical, but though that would normally bother me I didn’t care while reading. I was too invested in Maharaji.

Neem Karoli Baba. Indescrivibile. Vale la pena leggere tutti i libri scritti su di Lui.

Jai Maharajji
I love to read about Maharajji. He has been behind all lila of my current waking dream reality. Recently he revealed himself to me and all became clear in a flash. Right from the slap I received from a languur monkey in Agra when I was 12 years old until now - constant slaps reminding me to wake up. Now that I know who's behind all this, it a dance in open. Also learned that maharajji grand daughter is married in our family. Looking forward to my jivatman journey, now that it's guided by Maharajji.Ram Ram RamSwami Arunananda aka Siddhartha Sharma

Save your money
I'm sorry but this is really poorly written.Read a sample if you think I'm being hard on the author.I also think it shows lack of understanding and naivety to put Maharaji up on this impossibly grand pedestal.Guru of the Gurus.Avatar of the Age.Wielder of literally all siddhis and knower of literally all things.Countless stories of miraculous things.Please.I'm not even saying any of these things are necessarily false or true. It's this child-like obsession with the miraculous - that one so often finds in spiritual literature - that is the real concern for me.What far too many fail to understand is that the miracles, siddhis, charisma, synchronicty, etc are not where the real magic is.At least not for the seeker of Truth. The focus should not be on the bells and whistles. Why do you think Autobiography of a Yogi sold millions of copies and is considered top 50 spiritual classic? It's the tales of powers, austerities, miracles and the magical thinking meandering through it all.The great mystery and thing of ultimate import is that a Sage is Self-Realized, can transmit this to other sentient beings, and that all can come to realize the same Truth - which alone is true Freedom. What could be more miraculous and more important than That?Granted, if the bells and whistles happen to turn seekers on to Realization, than they do serve a noble purpose. But it's time in the West to mature beyond the miraculous tales and new age magic think.True compassion is not materializing a Lingam out of your mouth, or knowing what I ate for dinner when I was 2.True compassion is attaining the highest Truth and then striving tirelessly and selflessly to bring others into the same Light of abiding Freedom.
