Durable yet very effective at absorbing vibrations
I've picked this mat as a pad for desktop PC case (standing on my wooden desk): 11 kg od plastic & metal with 9 fans inside. That's a lot of weight, noise and vibrations and the mat handled them all with ease. Mat is made from some sort of rubber, consisting of many tiny fragments glued/pressed in some way. It's rigid to the point that it's not too easy to cut it to size (thin & very sharp knife is a must) and at the same time it absorbs vibrations even from really heavy objects like full-sized home appliances (washing machine, tumble dryer and so on). So even though 5mm thickness may not be that convincing at the start, it really is enough to get those results. The vibrations are gone and the noise reduces instantly to the very minimum. And what are the downsides of this product? Only minor ones: due to its structure its not easy to get clean cuts on the edges. So they may end up a bit uneven/irregular, depending on the tool you will use. Also, on smoother surfaces (desks, tiled floors...) and lighter objects (<10kg) the mat may be a little slippery - but two sided tape deals with that perfectly. All considered, this product is really well made and delivers impressive results. It turned my computer from annoying junk to silent workstation and I have no doubt I will pick this mat for my future kitchen appliances. Highly recommended!

anti-slip marvel
I actually think this is best described as an anti-slip mat rather than anti-vibration. It is far more effective as holding a washing machine rigid and stopping the walk they can do as they vibrate. Actually anything I stand on this simple doesn't budge when you push on it, I guess its what you would call a high friction material. It does absorb some vibration but its not magic, the biggest improvement in noise and movement I feel is due to its anti-slip properties. However if you have only ever tried those plastic feet they sell to go in each corner of the machine then this will be a huge upgrade in effectiveness.

BLISS !!
I have a dehumidifier in the bathroom which has a compressor that kicks in when it's in dehumidify mode. The bathroom floor is made of wood and the vibrations from the dehumidifier transfer into the floor, enough to sometimes make the light fitting cover on the kitchen ceiling below vibrate too. I figured that the vibrations were responsible for excess noise so i'd previously placed the dehumidifier variously on a small rubber mat like you find in car footwells as well as a small car footwell carpet. Unfortunately, despite my efforts it didn't solve the excess noise problem and i put up with it for over a year. So the issue is that it's all very noisy. Well, it used to be! I decided to investigate anti-vibrations pads and I came across this product. It's more pricey than some of the other products but based on others' reviews i thought i'd give this a try. I bought the 60cm x 60cm 10mm thick version and cut it up into 4 equal squares to match the dehumidifier footprint and then placed the dehumidifier on 2 of these squares to make the thickness equal 20mm. Bliss! I noticed an almost instant improvement in terms of noise reduction. I have two pieces left over that i'll give away to a friend with the same dehumidifier. The compressor still makes a noise but no longer transfers the vibrations into the floor boards. It's made such a difference that i had to go upstairs a few times on the first day to check that the dehumidifier was still on. I can now leave it on 24 hours a day without it being intrusive whereas before i had to switch it off at night because it was too noisy. I can wholeheartedly recommend this product - it's been a game changer and my only regret is not having bought it months ago before!

Massive reduction in washing machine noise.
I’m very impressed with how well this has worked. I’d been pondering buying one for some time and wish I had done sooner. I have a boshe washing machine that is apparently very quiet but as I’ve never been able to get it perfectly level it was always very noisy when spinning. I can no longer hear it outside of the kitchen. Two things to note from my installation: I bought the 20mm high mat. I didn’t consider the fact it’s a built in machine and this lifts the door higher and now the fake cabinet door doesn’t fit under the counter by about 5mm, so I’m going to have to remove all the feet, but that means taking it all out again. Which takes me to the other point, I did struggle with getting the washing machine and the mat back under the worktop together. I’d love to know if there’s a knack. My first attempt was to put the mat down and do the usual push the machine side to side into the space but the mat wouldn’t stay flat. I then put the machine on the mat and pushed it in but the mat grips to the floor so made very hard work.

Absolute God send!
Spending days, almost weeks non stop adjusting the washing machines feet to find out that my washer is on top of a suspended wood flooring, causing the machine to bounce and vibrate, walking and damaging the floor/wall, I tried everything from packing it out, to putting more wood under the machine, all totally failed. The mat was my last hope, I seriously considered selling my house, (joking) the mat worked and is still working! Machine still vibrates but doesnt rattle, doesnt walk, I cant even notice it! Before the mat it was like working in an airfield, that thing was gonna take off! Hands down, a must have if you're facing similar problems, I've also heard people completely removing the adjustable legs to create bigger surface area thus minimising vibration, I'm yet to try this, so far im chuffed, if it does get bad again I'll remove legs however so far, not needed! Thank you thank you thank you thank you tha.......
