The best new Cookbook
First, I have all of Ottolennghi cookbooks. The recipes are always unique, elegant and presented in a way that the home cook can follow. The photos are so beautiful they made my culinary brain dance. Any person interested in cooking would LOVE this book and I’m giving it away as a Holiday gift this year. This may be my favorite cookbook of all times!

Ottolenghi's best yet!
I have all of Ottolenghi's cookbooks, and this is by far my favorite. Why? Because it's one that I can actually see myself cooking recipes from, rather than asking "Do home cooks really make these dishes?" Although I love the flavors and ideas of his food, I decided that making it was a bit beyond what I wanted to tackle on any given weeknight and I vowed that I would forgo buying any more of them. That was until I saw this on top of the stacks of books at "the big box store." It was $10 less than the amazon price. I briefly thought I might wait for the price to drop on amazon, but as I leafed through it and saw page after page of recipes that I immediately wanted to make, I knew I couldn't wait, and it came home with me.I already had the ingredients on hand to make the All-Purpose Mushroom Ragu, so that's what I made. I can't describe how good it was. It was a bit lemon-forward, so if I made any changes at all, it would be to slightly reduce the amount of preserved lemon. I served the ragu with soft polenta (using Melissa's Clark's easy Instant Pot version) and my husband and I both flipped over it. He said he would be thrilled if this was served to him in a restaurant! I had leftovers, and served it as a pasta dish, which was also delicious..Next up, are the Shawarma Meatloaf with Caramelized Onions, the Puttanesca-Style Sheet Pan Salmon, the Summer Chicken Cacciatore with Herb Sauce, and the Quick Ramen Noodles with Mushrooms. The beautiful photographs are part of what made passing this book up all but impossible, but that is fine because the recipes fully live up to them.Even if you've decided that Ottolenghi's recipes are largely too involved, take too much time, and have too many out of the ordinary ingredients, I urge you to give this book a try. It is far more accessible than most of his previous books. The recipes are much more widely appealing and the majority are complete meals.

My favorite ottolenghi cookbook!
I got an advanced copy of this cookbook to go thru and review recipes ahead of the release date. This book is great! It’s not comfort food in the traditional American sense of the phrase it is about food that brings comfort. The setup of the book is pleasing everything is categorized in a way that is natural. Eggs, crepes, pancakes in one section, soups dips and spreads in another. Very easy to find a recipe off the cuff as long as you know what category it should be in.I’ve made several of the recipes from the book and can honestly say they were all winners. I particularly liked the eggplant, bell pepper, and tomato soup and the roasted chicken with aunt Pauline’s marinade. The savory crepes were also very very good. The pictures are also high quality and very pretty to look at if that’s something that’s a factor when buying a cookbook(it usually is for me)I’d recommend this cookbook to an beginner home cook looking to broaden their repertoire as several of the recipes are just this side of familiar enough as to not be too intimidating but also not like every other “comfort food” cookbook on the market. That being said a more experienced home cook would still greatly enjoy this book based purely on the authors experience in developing unique and tasty recipes.

Also disappointed
As others have pointed out, and I’m sure more will follow, not as vegetarian/vegan friendly as Ottolenghi’s previous cookbooks. Probably enough recipes, especially through modification, to provide things I want to make, but for anyone trying to eat the most healthy diet, this book is not a winner.

My Favorite Ottolenghi (So Far)
As a certified homebody and lover of everything cozy, this cookbook really speaks to my soul. It's basically one giant brunch book with enough recipes to please everyone at the table. I'm also pleased with how approachable these recipes are in comparison to recipes from other Ottolenghi cookbooks. In the past, I've always loved what I've made, but the thought of getting out several dishes and pieces of equipment has stopped me from exploring further. The ingredient lists are noticeably shorter for the most part, and everything is easily sourceable for most home cooks, even if they don't live in a major city.I also love that there's an entire section dedicated to chicken and sheet pan meals—something I am more and more interested in as my days get longer, and my family expands. This is a cookbook that will feel like a warm hug and broaden your horizons. Get it!Ten Speed Press provided me with a free copy of this book; the opinions are my own.

Love It
I was so excited to receive the new Ottolenghi Comfort cookbook. There have been lots of conversation about this book leading up to publishing date… whether it is from him or his test kitchen? And if the book is vegetarian or if it should be… The book is not labeled as a test kitchen cookbook. Also it is not vegetarian. Lots of meat, maybe more heavy on the meat recipes than his other books. However even as someone that was looking for more vegetarian recipes, I wasn’t disappointed because of the meat recipes. Usually you can find or create substitutions. The book is beautiful and full of flavor. That’s one of the things I love most about his recipes, are the bold flavors. My favorite recipes from this book so far are crispy roasted potatoes with rosemary and za’atar; and chocolate mousse with orange caramel. A little bit of everything for everyone. This book will not disappoint.Ten Speed Press provided me with a free copy of this book; the opinions are my own.

Bestes Geschenk für Hobby-Köche
Hab das Buch meinem Partner zum Geburtstag geschenkt und werde nun reichlich bekocht. Als Erstes wurde das „Chicken with Steph‘s Spice + Coconut Rice with Peanut Sauce and Cucumber Relish“ ausprobiert. Wow. Alle waren sprachlos. Bin gespannt wie es weitergeht!Sehr hübsch anzusehen und auch die Haptik ist hochwertig.
