Dark Forest: The Coloring Book

One of the best things I like about Chet Minton's coloring books are the pictures are very polished and not too "kiddie". Although they are very appropriate for young people and children too, I don't feel like I'm coloring pictures that are solely meant for toddlers. Some of the pictures are very rich with detail while others are a little more 'relaxed'. I can't get enough and can't wait until his next book comes out! Call me a fan.

Chet's artwork is my favorite out of all the coloring books that I own! (He's also a fantastic guy!) I was lucky enough to find the Kickstarter for his first book, Monsters, Magic & Myth, and it's been a love affair ever since! Every picture is unique and packed with detail, and Dark Forest is no exception. It's fun working on each picture and finding little things that I didn't notice at first. I'll be honest.... I did not buy the Amazon version of Dark Forest. I bought the Collector's Edition. It's that good! If you like books such as Mythomorphia, Tolkien, or if you like fantasy in general...you NEED this book!I've included a finished image of the first page I colored.

I bought the pdf and I love this book!! The art is gorgeous by itself, but coloring it is even more fun as you discover little details Chet has hidden. I mean, a gnome with a teddy on a bee?? Can't go wrong!The paper is medium to light. I'd put paper in between pages to prevent markers bleeding through, and watercolors would not be ideal. Great with pencil or crayon.

I got the digital copy of this book. When I first saw Chet's work I was soooo intimidated, and I still am, but once I start coloring the images, it all just falls into place perfectly. The images are VERY detailed, and they are awesome! I love his art style! Hope he does more books! Thank you Chet!

I LOVE Chet's books SO much I bought them BOTH the very first day I saw his art! They are filled with dragons, wizards, fairies, trolls, gnomes, adorable critters, etc., all entangled in fun, comical or dire situations.You will LOVE these books!NOTE: I purchased digital copies of both books on Etsy.
