Certainly has merit
The message of this book is a valuable one I want to teach my Son. However, I was a little disappointed with this book. I own two other Mem Fox books, so was expecting something with more rhyme. I didn’t enjoy the illustrations. I don’t know who the man in the cloud suit flying children around the world is meant to represent, I found it a bit odd. Overall, I think the story is important, but I think if I had picked it up in a book shop and looked at it I would have put it back down and bought something else. It’s not a patch on the ten little fingers and ten little toes book, for example. Although I appreciate the two books may be aimed at different age ranges. Perhaps it’s the illustration style that just isn’t for us, and confusing.

good book for learning acceptance of other cultures.
this book was a bit hard going for our 2-4 year olds when we read it to them , it needed a little explaining but the children understood the context of it and were able to see the differences between all people around the world , they were able draw their own conclusions from their own experiences. they enjoyed looking at the pictures and talking about it between themselves , good book for learning acceptance of other cultures.

Was looking for a book to explain differences in people and cultures but still on the hunt as this is a bit odd. My 5 year old twins like it well enough but I think the references to blood all being the same etc a little strange - although I see what it is trying to do. I don't particularly like the rhyme of it or the pictures so will keep looking!

A lovely book about inclusion.
I love this book for teaching about similarities and differences between people across the world. If you're a primary school teacher you can get a lot out of it for PSHCE.It has lovely illustrations and the words are really simple and accessible to children but make a lovely point.

Book for diversity
As a childminder, I need to have books about diversity and this one is great. Of the children I look after, I have a chinese girl and an asian girl and a black boy, so it is great for them to pick out their own and their playmates skin colours.
