A great value, accurate watch.
I like the excellent lume, Seiko Epson have used their own "Lumibrite" across all of their models, whether third tier or top tier, for many years now and I'm confident that the Liberal application of the Lumibrite on this watch will last for at least ten years just as brightly. But the piece itself is pretty decent too, with a durable, shot peened case that will resist scuffs & scratches better than a polished or brushed finish would.Mine tipped up yesterday and so I can confirm the accuracy of the quartz module as found in this watch; it has neither lost nor gained at all in the intervening 24 hours to now.The water resistance, a stated 100m/ 10atmospheres, is trustworthy, I placed the watch in my pressure testing rig using air as clean, soap free water wouldn't penetrate the case. This I know because thought the watch lacks a screwdown crown, it still has very effective O rings on the stem and a well fitted crystal (Seiko's own "Hardlex" according to the test I did using my diamond gauge. So expect the crystal to be more durable than lesser mineral ones. It's not sapphire but it's top of its class nonetheless.Oh, and air only began to sneak into the watch when the pressure in the test reached an equivalent 172metres, so yes, it resists water ingress under pressure but I wouldn't subject any watch, no matter how deep it can go in air/cold water test conditions, to the hot and soapy environment of your shower or bath, heat and soap are any watches worst enemy! The only way in which I could criticise the watch in any way is that the supplied, NyLon strap has yet to soften to my skinny (⅝ inch) wrist.I'm sure that the strap will gradually soften in use but this point might put off some potential buyers so better I mention it now than havering people cursing me for daring to judge the watch using only my own experience and measures.

The best cheap watch
This is pretty much the best cheap watch you can buy. Chuck the strap it comes with, get an 18mm nato from CWC and you don’t ever need another watch. The watch is light, easy to read and the lume is incredible.Honestly if you are reading this just grab it, it’s only £30 or so

Excellent Watch
My husband says the watch has a very reliable Seiko quartz movement. He is a watch collector, and loves the LumiBrite coating on the dial because its luminescence should last a good 4 hours. The Lorus watch feels very light in weight, reminiscent of his well loved Pulsar Kinetic, which is still going well many years to the day.Day / Date is easy to set, but needs small fingers because the crown is tightly set into the watch case. The strap is a 20mm NATO, so could easily be changed to another that would suit if required; husband says it's comfortable, looks well made and has a nice chrome-steel buckle. The watch case, 'Stainless Steel' is so light that it might actually be titanium.Altogether this Lorus is a reliable, good looking watch now owned by Seiko, and this means reliability and very good value for money.

Let there be Light
This watch is all about two things: the Lumibrite and a functional design. On both points, it scores well and delivers with outstanding value. The Lumibrite is very visible and, importantly, stays visible through the night. The dial really glows. It's a slim and moderately-sized watch so if you have a small- to medium-sized wrist, or if you simply prefer a smaller watch, it should fit you well. The case finish is very good if plain (bead-blasted except for the polished casebook) but it's a field/tool watch, not a luxury timepiece. There is cost-cutting with a mineral crystal, a crown finish that doesn't match the case, and a Zulu-style nylon strap that feels a bit cheap. But those factors don't significantly detract from the outstanding value of this watch. It's easy to recommend this watch if you want a tough watch that looks good, is easy to read in the dark, and won't cause you to wince if you accidentally scratch it since it didn't cost you an arm and a leg. A final, big plus is that Lorus is a Seiko sub-brand, so you get the reliability inherent in Seikos.

Lorus Lumibrite, a great little cheap watch.
I have just bought the LORUS RJ656X9 LUMIBRITE watch. The older but similar RXF41AX7 can be bought cheaper but there are differences. It arrived from Amazon in less than 24 hrs and I'm happy to report that it functioned correctly on all counts. Agreed, the strap is basic but I knew this and had already ordered a BISONSTRAP alternativeleather strap and a Deployment Clasp as I hate buckles.I set the time and day/date, all adjusted easily (French alternate settings for the day) The second hand struck all the minute marks accurately, even some reasonably pricey watches don't do this!Accuracy of timekeeping, so far 2 seconds fast in 15 days!About the Lumibrite, NO lume is perfect, they all dim over time in the dark, some more than others. I rate this lume as one of the better ones.LIKING.. the sandblasted stainless steel case with crown guards and screw back, drilled lugs, day/date, hacking crown, accuracy of the second hand, the lumibrite, the easy to read face, overall design and size, the flat Mineral Glass Crystal, Seiko VJ33 movement, and the 10 atm water proofing.NOT LIKING…..the strap!I am far from being a “watch snob” as my 10 watch collection includes cheap, old, new and expensive watches. For a £38 outlay, I cannot fault this timepiece at all.

Pretty watch, works fine out of the box
I was wondering whether the batteries will be fine when delivered but it seems that the watch is all fine. The watch itself is a well-known bang-for-the-buck field watch. The lumibrite is very impressive and the readability I think couldn't be even better. Wears very nice even with the included strap (which could be better perhaps). Also very happy that the delivery UK -> Poland had all the taxes included. The watch itself is not available in Poland from any traditional shops, the stock either long gone or watch being deprecated.
