xTool vs Creality Falcon2
Copied from my one-star review of the Creality Falcon2 Pro S: This is one of those “If I could give zero stars….” situations. My husband ordered the Creality Falcon for me as a Christmas present. It was not easy to set up, especially the top lid with its extremely thin plexi plastic, which was supposed to be aligned, miraculously in very small tracks while also trying to keep the whole thing together. I did finally get it put together, and I was able to do some etching on the sample piece of wood. Then I moved on to installing the rotary so that I could engrave some tumblers. This is where everything went downhill. Once the rotary was in place, I could not get past the flashing green light on the power button. I tried every tip I could find on YouTube and ChatGPT including resetting everything back to the original set up. I called their customer service line for help. I was surprised when someone answered the phone, while they didn’t speak English very well. I was relieved to talk to a human. After 15 minutes, she pointed me to the online chat button on their site and said that I would need to go there to resolve my problem. I made three attempts to sit in the queue for the online chat and finally reached what I assume was a real person. After about an hour waiting for the chat and then getting the live body on the line, every time they asked a question. I answered quickly and then sat waiting and waiting over and over again. This rep could not solve my problem either and said that someone would email me with further instructions. I asked them to call me and they said that wasn’t possible. I have yet to receive an email. I also submitted online support tickets and haven’t received any responses, not even auto generated ones. All around zero stars. I went ahead and ordered a different machine to compare while waiting on a resolution - the Xtool S1 with rotary bundle. The difference is night and day. It came almost fully assembled, is much higher quality, and has decent instructions in the manual. I was very impressed that the rotary kit came with a tape measure and a level too, which the Creality kit did not. The software is much easier and user-friendly. This model doesn’t include a camera, but I love the infrared cross that stays on continuously for lining things up, and corresponding cross in the design center that moves accurately around as you move the laser head. I also love that I can move the laser around with my hand, vs the slow arrow buttons on the Creality. Within a day, I’ve already tested out wood, alloy metal, and coated stainless steel tumblers using the xTool rotary with great success.

Great addition to my home shop and hobbies
I’ve been really impressed with the xTool S1 20W so far. Setup was straightforward and it worked well right out of the box. Cuts are clean, engravings are sharp, and it has plenty of power for wood, leather, and acrylic. The enclosed design feels solid and safe, and the software is easy to figure out even if you’re new to lasers. Overall, it’s been reliable and consistent, and it’s quickly become a go-to tool in my shop. Would absolutely buy it again.

XTool S1- Great Product!
I am so happy I purchased this item! I am still learning to use the X tool, but the possibilities are endless! It was super easy to set up, the software is really easy to use, especially if you have any background using cricket.

xTool S1 20w update
Shortly after I wrote this review Yvette from xTool reached out and helps me out with my riser base and sent out an exchange right away. The pass through riser base is only available for purchase on their website. The machine is awesome and very easy to set up and use from xTool’s creative space or lightburn. I have a few lasers and other CNC equipment and this is by far the easiest and produces the best quality of my laser machines. The image quality and speed are pretty amazing! Also, xTool’s customer service is excellent unlike many other laser machine companies. It’s also super fun to use, my other machines are more like using a tool. It’s not a toy for sure but it’s great to have something you look forward to working with! Quick tip, I added clear protective wrap (like 3M’s clear chip guard) to my plastic so it wouldn’t get scratched up or foggy. * Everything was great, except it’s not detailed very well. All the previous reviews point out some features which are mostly as promised, however, the description does not mention the riser (the US version is shown in reviews as the a pass through version for future expansion) is not what I received and is also not noted in the item description requiring another purchase before adding the conveyor unit. Also, previous version had a few more polished finishes also shown in their video promotion and reviews of this product. The chrome detail along the lids hinge area is gone allowing you to see the adhesive strip. I know it’s a small detail but it’s not as shown in the description. I love the machine but it is a little disappointing to see some cost cutting that is so visible. I still love the product just wish it matched the expectations in some of the details. I would rate it higher but didn’t for said reasons. My exception was 5 stars and functionally it has met that. Product description and what I received were not (totally based on the add and promotional material).

Got it ahead of time, haven't used it yet. Waiting for the shop building to get dome before hooking it up. Will rate it later.

A lot of fun to play with. The software easy to learn. I was creating simple new projects within a couple of days. i do not regret purchasing the 20 watt instead of the 40 it cuts well and fairly thick material. The biggest negative would be the smoke. Even with the excellent exhaust it leaves a smokey smell in a fairly large area. I would learn quickly the settings to run the exhaust fan past the end of the cutting engraving. In an ideal world this would be set up in a shop or garage due to the smoke
