Works like a charm
I previously tested 2 brands of 16 channel trigger sets and returned them as they were erratic and undependable. I ordered 3 sets of the Cheaplight triggers hoping to get to get one working set. On testing they all work fine with good distance and around obstacles. The only caveat is to check your flash duration and accommodate any camera to trigger to receiver to flash delay, Using my FZ200 I found that my flashes have different delays as do the receivers.. With my faster flash and receiver I can achieve 1/1000- at 1/4 flash power. The flash duration is 0.6ms and the trigger combo is 0.4ms,With the slower flash/receiver combination 1/4 power max is 1/800. At full power use 1/200 and at 1/2 power use 1/500 max, at 1/8 power and less 1/1000 is fine. At this price I will keep them all for amy future failures.

Couldn't be more pleased...
I was looking for an inexpensive alternative to the famous "Pocket Wizard" style radio triggers, and I found these online. I couldn't be more pleased with them. I originally purchased the kit with the transmitter and 2 receivers, and then later purchased another receiver separately when I acquired an additional flash. Each receiver has two dip switches giving you a total of four channels, so you can choose which flashes are going to trigger with your receiver.I've used these triggers for multiple events, at a distance (so far) of about 20 meters without having any problems. They have worked every single time without failing.Battery Compartment:The battery compartment is in the back, where it is still accessible with the trigger on a stand with the light attached. Changing batteries is quick and easy, and not having to disassemble the light in order to swap them out is very valuable. Even so, they are running on the same batteries I used when I first got them. (Just remember to turn the power to 'off' when you are finished.)The only thing I make sure to do with these is to be gentle with the plastic wheel that you use to tighten the trigger to the light stand. Being plastic, it is possible to over-tighten and strip the threads, but again, at this price that is not even a consideration, just a thought in the back of my mind.I highly recommend these units to anyone getting started in off-camera flash photography.

Hit or Miss
I have two of these from another vendor (CBS) that work flawlessly. This item looks identical except that it doesn't have CBS's sticker on the front. Being a bit cheaper I figured I'd order another from here.Unfortunately this receiver isn't working well at all. Sometimes it will fire, sometimes it won't. Sometimes it will fire once and then cease even though the receiver's pilot light indicates a successful fire. This is consistent across different speedlite brands. With enough trial and error it appears that the tolerances are off on this copy. If I don't seat my flash tightly forward as you should, but leave it back a bit, it seems to fire more regularly, but it's hit or miss. Not good when off site for a shoot. While I am still within the return period, the cost and hassle to ship it back compared to the XII dollars I spent on it isn't worth it.

Somewhat hit or miss
Had this for a while now. i still like it. but it does have a few downfalls. it does what it's supposed to....most of the time. i have had several occasions that it wouldn't fire, or it fired late and didn't sync with the time the shutter was open. those times were mainly when the unit was around a corner or didn't have line of sight. while it is a radio trigger and will get to the unit. it may sometimes be a bit late. so keep that in mindthe build quality is cheap. all plastic except the hot shoe and the 1/4" screw mount on the bottom. i havn't had issues with it. however i haven't put it in any situations that would really test it's limitations.it's no pocket wizard but if that's what ur expecting ur a fool. it works great for what i need it to. i've bought another set when i got an extra flash and i'm still happy with the product despite the occasional mishap with misfires.

What more do you want?
For an amateur photographer the npt-04 is a great way to get started. I have never had a misfire or a problem in lack of distance. I have to admit most of my slaves are line of site. Yes, of course there are better systems out there but top of the line equipment does not mean top of the line photographs. If your on the fence because of the cheap price, give it a go you won't be disappointed.

Just perfect for hobbyist
This is a repurchase, I have already 2 of these and I bought a used flash so I added one more. This receivers however I noticed cannot sync in 1/200 shutter. Mine syncs only in 1/80. I will experiment more. But who will wana sync in 1/200 other than in broad daylight as fill in right? So we only need this in darker settiings. LOVE IT

For the price almost four stars...
They aren't perfect. I almost want to give them 3 stars, but considering how affordable they are and how most of us here are on a budget....even if it misfires with your trigger now and then or is cheaply made compared to the 200 dollar ones... you still can't go wrong. I've done 2 photobooths so far and for price paid they've served me well.

love the poverty wizard
Great little tool. I was very happy to find it was compatible with an older version of the same 4-channel system (with the umbrella attachment) of which I had a couple receivers left but not the transmitter. The battery cover on the receivers is different but they are functionally compatible on all channels. It is much simpler, more compact and easier to set up than pocket wizard at the fraction of the cost. No ttl or other fancy functions. Great for manual flash setups! Perfect for strobists.
