So far so good
I am in the middle of a painful bout of sciatica with radiating pain that made it difficult to put pressure on my foot or move my knee (I was hobbling and crab walking for days). That led to secondary inflammation and misalignment of a small bone in my knee (my knee swelled up to the size of a grapefruit) and I ended up in urgent care. They took x-rays of my knee and my hip and said that I had bursitis and osteoarthritis and prescribed crutches, 50 mgs of diclofenac x 2 daily for 7 days and diclofenac topical gel afterward.I have also been on muscle relaxers, prednisone, heat / cold therapy, massage... all of which help, but, it's been over a month.I am also seeing a chiropractor - which has helped to get the kink out of my back that caused the initial flair up and she was able to local the source of the muscle spasm that was causing my inability to walk (it was in my upper thigh muscle and it was pulling my other muscles up on my knee cap). While it helped with the swelling, Diclofenac has a lot of alarming side effects (among other things it lowers my body temperature to 94.6 F) and I really wanted to address this organically. My situation is complicated by the fact that I have autoimmune issues and I get "fevers" that raise my body temperature to 99.9 -- which actually help my fibromyalgia pain so lowering my body temperature means I can't clear toxins.I was looking for an alternative to Diclofenac and read this on PubMed:______________________________________________________Proteolytic enzymes have analgesic, effects, besides the wellknown antiinflammatory and edema-reducing properties. These analgesic effects are based on the inhibition of inflammation and in addition to that on direct influences on the nociceptors. All that explains the therapeutical effects of such enzymes in degenerative-rheumatic and soft tissue rheumatic diseases in which inflammatory or immunologic processes are not in the forefront. In recent years a significant reduction of pain in various rheumatic diseases, concerning these aspects, was shown in several clinical studies. The clinical trial in patients with periarthritis of shoulder showed statistical equivalence of pain reduction, whether they were treated with phlogenzym or diclofenac. Likewise in the trial of patients suffering from painful osteoarthritis of the knee, there was a statistical equivalence of the pain-scores, comparing diclofenac and enzymes. The study of painful vertebral syndromes again resulted in equivalence of the treatment with NSAIDs compared to therapy with enzymes.______________________________________________________There are very few sources for proteolytic enzymes in the US. They are very popular in India where these particular enzymes (Trypsin & Chymotrypsin) are prescribed for edema, pain and inflammation.I only take 2 of these a day: 1 in the morning and 1 at lunch time. I have noticed that the burning pain in my hips has disappeared and that the swelling has gone down in my knee and my edema is much reduced in my legs and ankles. I also have noticed that this dose helps manage constipation (I am hypothyroid and have always needed help in this area -- and even with magnesium supplements it can be challenging).Pain can be managed naturally by also addressing lowered dopamine and serotonin levels. The sciatica made me depressed and the more depressed I got, the worse the pain got.I started taking 400 mg SAM-e x2 a day along with 500 mg of L-theanine. They also seem to be addressing my feelings of hopelessness and increasing my sleep quality. Most of the L-theanine out there is not high enough to address pain levels -- so it's important to take enough to make an impact.I guess what I am trying to covey here is that usually it's not "one thing" that will magically make a difference. It's important to pay attention to your body and figure out the root cause and try complimentary things that together may make a difference.Bottom Line: This combination of Trypsin & Chymotrypsin is helping me feel much better!

Seems good
I wanted the 3x, and subscribed. When it wasn't available, the site automatically switched me to the other kind, without the serrapeptase. I am now ordering that separately.I have only taken the Trypsin & Chymotrypsin twice so far, but I feel a difference in bloating. I am adding the other one, and will report back. But I wish Amazon would not have changed what product was shown with the same link.

Definitely works for me
I was unable to find Trypsin Chymotrypsin prescribed from a doctor here in the US. In India, this is given by doctor's when you have swelling of feet, or body parts due to injury, etc. The actual prescription tablet is smaller and is very effective. However, that is not something you take all the time (probably because of higher dosage). The Indian doctor (my PCP) - does not believe it works. But I told her - it definitely does work for me - my brother is a physical medicine MD in India and he was the one who first prescribed this for me years ago in India. This seems to be of good quality and works well, if you have two tablets together in the morning and the night. It definitely reduced my inflammation (on my fingers) and I also noticed other inflammation reduce (did not expect that). So, I am taking it now as a supplement to manage some chronic inflammation problems and it works well (I think). Atleast, there is a difference between when I take this and when I stop taking it - hence I am taking one tablet in the morning and one in the evening. This is not adequate if you have "active" inflammation like I had in my hand - that needs higher dosage (please remember).

6x/day…very expensive
I have just started using it, so I can’t speak to its effectiveness, but the recommended dosage on the bottle is 2 capsules 3x/day which makes this bottle into a mere 10 day supply, thats over $90 for a month supply. And the amount is also listed as USP, which is…who actually knows how much because there’s no way of knowing what that equates to in standard units. It’s all very dubious seeming. So your paying a lot for a big unknown.
