These were installed on the back of a 1989 C4 Corvette, the fit was perfect and the spring is so strong on these, it was hard to push down the rear hatch to close. I'm sure these will last for years to come. If you're new as an old corvette owner, make sure you always close that rear glass cate from the center of the glass, not the sides of the glass. These have no frames like the C5 and C6's. Great product!

Bought them for my 85 Vette project. I bought the car with no rear hatch struts and the best part is they came with the pop in clips! These struts are strong and lifts the hatch all the way. Gotta give it a nice push to keep it down. Way better priced compared to a auto parts store or Corvette supplier. Install took less than a minute

These replaced the original warn out hood lift struts on my 1985 Corvette. Made it much easier to open the hood. When the hood is fully up it’s held up by these struts but can be moved easily towards the closed position. Once it gets to about 45 degrees closed, the hood is definitely collapsing the struts and the hood requires some muscle to ease the hood to close. It also still requires some muscle to open but significantly less than with failed struts. Easy to install and they do a good job.

These are great quality struts. Been on my Vette for over a month no problems. I put these on my 89 vette in addition to the original large strut. Fit perfectly.

C4 Corvette has a very heavy rear window. The original struts no longer would lift it when released. These open the rear window as intended when new. They attached to the car slightly different from the stock ones, but not a big deal. Better instructions would have been helpful. Much cheaper than from the Corvette parts supplier.

Easy to install a tip for new guy's I disconnected the support arm on the right side so as to lift the hood up a bit and connect the struts , I used my original washer and hair pin to secure , these appear to me to be decent struts if they fail prematurely I will add additional comments

There are two different types of strut listed on this page for clarification I bought the Front Lift Struts (the short ones)I bought these for a 1984 Corvette, and while they are better than nothing, they are not as good as I hoped, the really only hold the hood up right at the end and provide little support on the way up, if you have a newer year Corvette (but still a C4 Model) you probably have a second longer strut that helps this issue.Installation: all you need is a pair of needle-nose pliers, and a wrench, when installing you may think the new struts are a little long, this is intentional you need to remove your long strut to lift your hood beyond normal length ( get a friend to help hold it)
