Stereophile Recommended and One of the Best Values in Affordable Analog! The Blue Point Special EVO-III is a major advance in technology from our analog friends at Sumiko. A high-output moving coil cartridge, the BPS3 is fast, detailed and dynamic with a touch of warmth in the mid-band. Like all Sumiko cartridges, the BPS3 offers great rhythmic drive, propelling the music forward making every recording more fun to listen to. “Sumiko’s newest Blue Point Special moving coil cartridge, the EVO-III, is a huge improvement over the original, which had set new standards in the low-end cartridge market. You’ll find a model of tight clarity, rhythmic certainty, and excellent tracking!” — Michael Fremer, Stereophile The BPS3's 2.5mV output makes it compatible with virtually all MM phono stages and the 8.3Gm weight allows compatibility with a broad range of tonearms. A threaded headshell makes installation a breeze and the nude design allows an unparalleled view of the stylus and cantilever making alignment a snap. Sumiko Blue Point Special EVO-III is one of the best values in affordable analog and highly recommended! "The EVO III provided a big helping of moving-coil goodness, yet was refreshingly free of common moving-coil quirks and foibles. Enthusiastically recommended." — The Absolute Sound

A JOY TO HEAR
I have owned this cartridge for over 5 years now and I love it. It is mounted onto my J A Michell TecnoDec, connected to a top of line Musical Fidelity phono pre-amp, and amplified through a pair of Channel Islands power amps.. The impact of sound generated has a dynamic that puts you in the midst of the music. The audio spectrum is complete, with no empty places. Perhaps it is the design of the cantilever that seems to remove noise, presenting a floor for clean bright high fidelity to come through the way a $3,000 dollar cartridge might do. I play Tchaikovski to Adele. Because of this cartridge, I remain strongly dedicated to LPs.
