Dick Vitale's personality comes through in this book...his personality in his writing is just like you see on TV. He has some great advice for kids in typical situations that they encounter growing up. As a teacher and coach, I am always trying to think of ways to explain things to student-athletes and Dick Vitale has some really down-to-earth examples!Great bulletin board material, good lists, simple but short, effective stories...this book is a quick read. Dick Vitale has a great, positive outlook on life, which is what makes his book such a powerful read...he has a great way of explaining how to make the best of every situation; whether it is turning around his job rejections or getting fired from coaching, etc. All of his stories are easy to understand and relate to!

I was excited to find a book I could use with my middle school students. It's about time we have a truly genuine character helping kids grow emotionally, intellectually, and as a whole person! Dick Vitale and Reji Laberje give tremendously helpful advice on how we can all better our lives. I thought that the advice would speak solely to young adults. I was thoroughly impressed by how engrossed I was as an adult. I have learned so much about being a better person, about helping others, about persevering in the face of our abyss, and about how to get a "W", win, in the game of life. Thank you Dickie V. Because of the heartfelt stories you've shared and the amazing advice, I have grown as a person. I am so happy to use your stories and plans to help my kids at school. You are Awesome with a Capital A!

Dick Vitale has always been an inspiration to many people, and when I saw this book come out I was very excited. It has EXCEEDED my expectations! It is a wonderful book for children and adults of all ages! It is a MUST READ for all kids - Dick does an amazing job using personal stories to show kids how to be winners in the most important game of all - LIFE. In many different ways that anyone can follow, Dick literally spells out the dos and don'ts of life, how important it is to make good decisions, and simple methods to be the best you can be - now and in the future. If you need a gift for your son, daughter, grandkids, what have you, this is it. It is easy to read, keeps you engaged, and will motivate and inspire you. Perfect for the holidays. A GREAT BOOK.
