Kind of works, but doesn't really seem to support the weight of the tailgate
From opening to installation I would give this 5 stars, but after the first use the connection point on the tailgate started bending and flexing from the weight - even when lowering against the gas pressure. The angle the piston comes down is pretty steep so it doesn't really have much chance to reduce the weight and the bolt can;t get any tighter in the captive nut they include to hold it closer to the frame. Without a doubt this bolt Is going to break and then I can't even replace it unless I drill out the captive nut.I would not recommend this for others running an 08 F350.

Ease of installation…with the correct tools!!
Product was easy to install and works wonderful. Only problem was the tools needed to install the rivnut were not the same size,at all,as the ones called for in the instructions!!

Doesn’t work like I had seen some work.
The gate assists I saw on video open slowly, this one you have to help it come down.still wants to come down too fast. Possibly defective or just not a good product.

Didn't work for me
I bought one installed it on the truck did not hold the tailgate at all. Exchanged it because I thought maybe the first one was defective. When the second one arrive I installed it and the same thing happened the tailgate slammed and the item didn't do it's job.

Great Product
Having a heavy tailgate on my F250 was an issue but now I don’t have to worry about the tailgate slamming when opening. Works great and was easy to install. Total installation time was around thirty minutes.

Good Addition
Easy to install and decent quality for the money. Include installation instructions are trash, look at other reviews and look at their pictures and follow their advices. Once installed it works well
