Although not technically necessary with AM5 CPUs, the contact frame DOES help with thermals a tiny bit (due to the increased thermal mass surrounding the CPU) from my initial testing anyway. The frame is made from solid aluminum and feels quite durable. Not sure if it’s CNC or cast aluminum but it will probably last forever. The look, fit, and overall design is spot on. I use mine with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and it works great. This frame will work with all Ryzen 7000 CPUs and it also has a seal that goes around the base of the CPU to ease the mounting pressure a bit, or prevent thermal compound leakage, although I’m unsure if that’s what it’s for. The type of cooler you use doesn’t matter from what I’ve seen, just make sure it will mount properly and that even mounting pressure is applied to the cooler. Cleaning the CPU of thermal compound can be tricky because the paste tends to cake within the inner edges of the frame, while not an issue in most cases it can become an issue over time due to dried paste buildup. Overall, a very easy to install addition to your PC to aid with thermals and give your CPU socket a cleaner look. 10/10

I installed the Thermal Grizzly AM5 Contact Frame on my Ryzen 9 7900X3D system with a Corsair H150i AIO and Arctic MX-6 thermal paste, and the results were better than expected. Before the upgrade, my CPU would peak at around 73°C during OCCT stress testing. After installing the contact frame and reapplying thermal paste, my max temperatures dropped to 67°C — a solid 5–6°C improvement under full load. The system now runs cooler, more stable, and with less thermal fluctuation during intense gaming and productivity tasks. I also noticed a slight drop in GPU temps during 4K benchmarks, likely due to better overall case thermals now that the CPU heat is dissipated more efficiently. Build quality is top-notch, installation was straightforward (just follow the instructions and be patient), and everything fit perfectly with my AIO. If you're using an AM5 CPU and want the most efficient and even pressure on your IHS, this frame is 100% worth it. The Thermal Grizzly AM5 Contact Sealing Frame is genuinely impressive. Installation was straightforward, and the build quality feels premium the moment you handle it. Once in place, it made a clear difference more even pressure, better contact, and also improves performance and overall functionality with more stable temps on my Ryzen 7000 setup. I also like that it adds a layer of protection around the CPU, which gives some peace of mind during installs. If you want to get the best performance out of your AM5 system, this frame is absolutely worth it.

I have nothing but positive things to say — the Thermal Grizzly frame fit perfectly, and installation on my Ryzen 9 9950X3D was effortless. I highly recommend a high-quality thermal paste, such as Corsair XTM70, and a 360mm AIO to get the lowest temps possible from the Ryzen 9950X3D. Following installation, I noticed idle temperatures dropped to 43 °C, while gaming and productivity work average 60 °C consistently. Buy it!

This thing is worthy. It is easy to install, but you need to be careful to avoid damaging the motherboard or CPU by mistake. I'm combining this with a graphene thermal pad of the same brand and a noctua gh2 cooler. There's a noticeable reduction on temperatures, my Ryzen 9 9950X3D keeps below 39 degrees Celsius and below 60 degrees under stress. Amazing

Installs very easily and holds everything in place. I didn't see a change in temperature but it works extremely well.

Thermal Grizzly are well known for being one of the top contenders for high-end PC building. Their products have always been highly rated by enthusiasts and their Thermal Grizzly is some of the best rated thermal paste in the industry. The Thermal Grizzly AM5 Contact Sealing Frame is primarily used alongside Liquid-Metal based thermal pastes (This paste is liquid at room temperature and can very easily fry your CPU if not applied properly) to ensure that no liquid-metal is able to transfer to the motherboard. However, I have used the sealing frame alongside regular metal-based thermal paste (Thermal Grizzly to be precise!) and it has performed very well. It has helped improve contact of the AIO Cooler pump, and has resulted in a -3c temperature drop at max load compared to a stock CPU mounting bracket. Pretty impressive for a single piece of kit! Very easy to install, and comes with a silicone layer that sits comfortably inside the Sealing Frame to further protect any spillages from spreading past the plate. You can decide not to apply the silicone layer inside, but I would highly recommend it. Overall, very happy with the purchase and the difference it has made. It looks awesome too!
