These handmade cards help to improve the lives of some of the poorest people on this planet - young adults who have been orphaned by disease, or even worse, genocide or conflict. Every single card is lovingly hand crafted by one such young person in Rwanda who also signs their name at the back of the card. This project gives them a respectable start in life and helps them on their way to economic independence. Each card incorporates handmade paper made from local office waste which gives them their green credentials. Who are we? We are ethicological and our heart beats for all that is sourced ethically, is sustainable & feels logical. At the core of our heart is the principle of economic empowerment of communities - especially women - by facilitating sustainable livelihoods. Our aim is not just to sell. We want to bring to the mainstream the talent of these skillfull artisans, most of whom work with traditional techniques passed on from one generation to the next. All of our products are ethically sourced, eco friendly and conform to the principles of Fair Trade. As part of our efforts to help bring about socio-economic parity, we are very excited to bring you fantastic creations from young artists in Rwanda. The manufacturer is a fully signed up member of the World Fair Trade Organisation and provides these young people with well paid fair trade work which helps them to build better lives.
