I really appreciate having the ESV Old Testament printed with the best Hebrew Bible. This is really superb for Bible study.

I received this yesterday and I would like to share my initial thoughts:1. Amazon did send it to Asunción (Paraguay, South America) without issues. While slow, it arrived on destination.2. Yikes. The volume is MASSIVE. IIRC, about 3K pages.3. Pages are extremely thin and easily wrinkled, perhaps a consequence of #2.4. Binding is smyth-sewn, very good.5. You have the BHS with the full critical apparatus on even pages, and the corresponding ESV translation on odd pages.6. It's funny, BHS + ESV was actually cheaper than BHS (full size) only. Pretty terriffic deal if you ask me.7. Paper color is too "white" for me in comparison to the cream-colored paper of BHS.8. For 3K pages, I think a ribbon bookmark would have been great. It is sorely missing.Overall, I think it is an excellent resource, at a convenient price, and very handy for any serious student of Biblical Hebrew. Verdict: Not perfect, but definitely worth of serious consideration. Recommended.

If an interlinear is too messy and a reader's edition a bit too hard, this layout is perfect.The ESV is just right translation for this kind of volume (irrespective of what version you use elsewhere).As other reviewers say, it's physically large but well made. The paper is obviously thin and has quite a lot of white space in places (e.g. poetry) which allows the text overleaf to show through more. It may be a problem to some, but anyone reading this volume has probably handled many Bibles with print and paper like this.For me, the biggest benefit of this volume is its readability and font size for both Hebrew and English.It's not cheap, but it is good value as a resource to turn to every time you preach/teach from the Old Testament (and even more so if it becomes your daily Bible for OT readings).
