I purchased it as a replacement for my mic arm (the one that came stock with the arm was extremely bulky) and I didn't have high expectations but it exceeded them. Very sturdy and has held up to being bumped into and my cat assaulting it. Very solid build and I couldn't have asked for a better clamp for the price!

I bought two of the Swing Arm Desk Lamp with plastic clamps some 15 years ago and both clamps broke over simple use. I like this product as it is METAL and should not break from the stress of the mounting shaft of the lamp to the metal clamp pressing so hard that it cracks or breaks the mount. It has a long clamping shaft that mounts over 2"s and makes a snug mount. The brace that comes in contact with the desk and screw-in mount both are padded to keep from scratching or leaving imprints in the desk material. I believe this solves my issue with plastic lamp mounts breaking all the time.

I got this to replace a bulkier plastic clamp for a retractable tablet arm. More secure and car better construction.

I bought a clamp-on desktop lamp here on Amazon. It came with a nearly identical clamp. However, it didn’t have a way to tighten or fasten the lamps arm to the clamp itself, so the arm that inserts into the clamp would just pop out. This one has that threaded screw on the neck portion, so you can actually tighten/fasten whatever you’re sticking in it. That way it stays put. Not much else to say honestly.Quality seems alright. It’s doing the job it’s intended for without issue for about 2 months now. I’ll update the review if it fails.

nice. I had to remove the plastic hole liner so my retractable light post would fit. Fits a little loose but works

Holds fine for a little bit, but after a week of moving the arm back and forth, the clamp slides around and requires readjustment or further tightening. Quite unstable for it being on a wooden surface, which is surprising.

Fits my old lamp great!
