So tasty, it helps me drink more water! 💖
I am a young woman with a corn allergy who struggles with the taste of water. I highly recommend any of these syrups for their quality of ingredients, taste, value for money, and versatility. PROS -Quality of Ingredients: I love SO MUCH that these syrups use cane sugar over artificial sweeteners or corn syrup. This makes it far more accessible to folks with allergies/dietary restrictions. -Taste: I haven’t had a single flavor I dislike yet! The Passionfruit Citrus is my favorite by far, especially mixed with the Hibiscus Cardamom flavor. The Rose Cordial is amazing too — it’s hard to make a rose syrup that doesn’t taste like drinking your grandmother’s perfume, but Portland Syrups made one with the perfect balance of flavor. That flavor was the first syrup I purchased (from a local boutique here in the PNW) & it was what brought me back to try more! -Value For Money: These are concentrated! I personally use only ~1/4oz. of each syrup in a 17oz. bottle of water. Each bottle has 12oz., so I’m getting about 48 servings per bottle of syrup. With two bottles, that’s 96 servings, and at $28, each serving comes out to about $0.30, if my math is right. That is SO reasonable for me personally! Versatility: these are technically cocktail mixers, but they’re actually perfect for any kind of drink! I’m a sober girly so I use these in my water, in homemade lemonades, and as a sweetener in tea. I would use these syrups as a replacement in any recipe calling for simple syrup of any kind. CONS I’ve got none for this one. These syrups do everything I need them to do & more!

Great Flavored Syrup
Great flavor and mixes well in any of my drinks. It’s a nice thick syrup, so it doesn’t take much. I’ve been making Old Fashioneds, mixing with vodka and lemon, and adding to prosecco. I’ve also had their Cranberry Spice syrup and it was great over the holidays. Will definitely try their other syrups.

Great flavor
A superb flavor that made my holiday cocktail a success. Mine was pure cranberry and the SSCS, along with some simple syrup and a high-proof bourbon. I topped with some Ginger Beer and garnished with a skewer of cranberries. Delicious.

Read ingredients for surprise flavors
Some of these syrups are delicious and I love them. They don't have artificial flavors or colors or sweeteners like nearly all other brands. However make sure you read the ingredients because while some list the full flavor profile on the front label, some do not. For example I ordered the marionberry and the 1st ingredients after water are Basil and Lemongrass and literally that's all you taste...my 1st sip was like watered down spaghetti sauce. I freaked out because I'm allergic to tomatoes and read the ingredients. 2nd sip I could taste the Lemongrass too, but I still don't taste berry at all. On the flip side the cherry pomegranate flavor is amazing and tastes just like that, and no surprises. I love that one. A lot of them have interesting flavors but they usually say it on the front label, which I kinda was relying on. Unfortunately I have a bottle of "Marionberry"(basil-lemongrass) syrup now that is likely going to go bad. I should have read the ingredients. It's just confusing when most the other syrup flavors listed it on the front.

Marionberry Cider
This review will be more applicable to homebrewing and cider making. That said, I had an unusual use for this, where I was backsweetening a light fruit fermented hard cider. I was looking not only for a strong sweetener but also looking for concentrated fruit flavors. I was looking to make an unusual fermented hard cider that people can't simply buy in a store. This Portland Syrups Marionberry Syrup fit the bill. I was making it for guests at a birthday party and it was a huge hit. The aroma of the syrup was of fresh fruit, and it was indeed very sweet, which is what I needed in my dry cider application. It is not inexpensive, but I believe for the quality and number of servings per bottle, it was a good value. I highly recommend and I will use it again.
