The American Eagle, the Boy and the Paedophile

This is possibly the worst little book I have read. Luckily it is only 51 pages long. So why so bad? The title is misleading as it is not really about the 9-year-old boy and his attacker. Most of the story is about a English girl getting married to an American boy. The quality of the writing is dreadful and not suitable either for adults or young adults. The author also demonstrates a complete ignorance of the behaviour of eagles (even in a fable) and does no better with people. He portrays the policeman as an irresponsible vigilante.The cover blurb says this 'enjoyable fable has a useful message at its heart - a message parents should not ignore'. Actually the message is dangerous. Warning parents to keep their eyes on their children and never let them out of their sight is irresponsible and impactical. Avoid wasting your money on this book.
